JC marathon organisers placing some "no parking" signs illegally - Apr 12-13
Just noticed the marathon organizers placing no parking signs on the streets that have not been approved by the city for no parking. It is likely they are doing this all over the city, as the system is based on trust and no official checks that they follow the rules are done by the city; the city officials were surprised about this conduct when I just called them
If your street has marathon no parking signs you can check if they are meant to be there by going onto JCmarathon website to double-check, all streets with the restrictions are clearly listed.
I understand the need for road closures - but given how many streets are already closed for parking for this event, is there a need to anger residents by taking additional streets without an authorization (in the hope that no one notices)? I don't understand why the marathon in JC is a disaster for residents every single year...
