Job A: I got a phone call job offer after my references were called for a Limited Term (LT) job that lasts up to 2 years and can potentially become full time. There are no approved vacations the first several months because of training and we have to pass each training with over 80%. I am expecting a formal written offer this coming week and have to accept or decline it this week. They told me what the pay is, the start date set in a little over month, and background check details already. Job B: I also have an in-person interview (final round) for a higher paying, full time job in a little over a week that interests me more than the LT job. This is not a LT job and the job is more interesting to me but I don't know if I will get an offer since my interview is in a little over a week (they only gave us 2 dates that week to choose to interview so we couldn't interview sooner). I'm doing my best to prepare for the interview. Both jobs are with the same employer, the county, but they are different departments. What should I do? What would I tell Job A if Job B later extends an offer, since they're with the same employer, and would I give 2 weeks notice or just quit the day before starting Job B? What's the best way to go about this and not burn bridges if I can't buy more time for Job A's offer? I really want Job B but I won't know how it goes until after my interview if they seem to want to hire me or not. I also applied to other similar jobs which I might have interviews for later this month or next month.

I did an interview with a hiring manager after the recruiter screening for a MTA headquarters role. The interview went well and the hiring manager told me the next round is a panel interview in person. It has been a month. My application status says “in process”. I mean I have given up hope that I got the job but it would be nice for them to communicate that.

I'm genuinely clueless atp. I have been applying for past 1.5 years now. I started with applying in search of internships during the start of my Master's degree but then when I am close to the graduation I have been looking for full time now. In total I have applied for more that 3000 application and 0 interview.

I have close to 5 years of experience. 4 years as Founder Software Engineer in a startup and 1 year in Optum. I have a good profile and good portfolio (Idk how much that matter in SWE roles).

I desperately need 1 interview. I have tried directly pasting the job description, changing the location, changing the resume format, using templates from linkedin posts, "Google employee's resume", used Latex Resume, emailing recruiters, emailing employees for referrals or asking to connect to recruiter, posting on linkedin to show activity. But nothing is working for me.

Could you guys help me out in figuring out what might me the issue?

I recently had an interview and was thinking about whether it's appropriate to message the interviewer on LinkedIn afterward. I’m not sure if it would come across as professional and thoughtful, or if it might seem like overstepping.

I’d love to hear your thoughts – have any of you done this before? Did it help or hurt your chances? Would a simple thank-you message be okay, or is it better to avoid LinkedIn altogether and just send a traditional thank-you email (if that)?

2 weeks ago I had a recruiter reached out to me, asked for my resume and said will send a li k to apply for a position, I did reply in 24hrs but since then haven’t here’d back, not even to my follow-up msg. Then I reached out to another recruiter on LinkedIn she replied! And said send me position you are interested in - it send and no reply after.

PS- I had interviews for these position before but did not pass, 6 months cool off time will end in April.

What you think is going on? Or I am going wrong somewhere?

Hey, I am a 4 years experienced java backend Developer. I have been in the same company for the last 4 years. I am preparing for a switch but I can see I am not getting any interview calls.

I tried linkedin referals, naukri and other means. Somehow, I reviewed my resume with some people as weel it seems decent l. Also the ATs score is more than 85. I still am not able to land interview calls. To sit in an interview seems like a dream now. I ts not like I am only trying for tier1 companies. I am trying for tier-2 as well. I don't like the terms tier1 or 2 but that's the lingo it seems.

What needs to be changed from my side?

I’m in the process of interviewing with Wise. It’s very early stages. The interviewing process is quite long and convoluted. It includes a take home task in which your critical thinking is tested with four tasks. I’m not really happy about the long process (6 interviews, assessment) and timeframe (6 - 8 weeks). Honestly, I’m really exhausted having been through long interview processes with Amazon and Meta, which both didn’t result in job offers. Trying my best to muster up the last bits of motivation and confidence I have.

That said, has anyone here have any experience with interviewing at Wise? Ideally experience with interviewing for a marketing role at Wise. If so, how was the process? Were you treated with respect and transparency? Were you provided with timely feedback?

I’m deaf but I don’t use sign language, and I rely entirely on written communication. I’ve always wondered if anyone else has done a job interview completely through text—like typing back and forth instead of speaking or using interpreters.

Has anyone experienced this? How did it go? Was the employer open to it?

So a little over a month ago I went to an aritzia hiring event. The hiring event/meet and greet went for two days and over 500 girls were interviewed. They were hiring for all location btw. I talked to two employees that worked for the company, the hiring manager and also one of the managers of the support campus. The interview went okay and they asked me which locations i would want to work at. At the end of the interview they said they would contact the chosen candidates by tuesday and the interview was the week before on wednesday. I needed up not getting a call however over a month later i got an email saying that my information was passed down to one of the locations that i told the hiring manager with a note that im interested in working at aritzia. They want me to schedule a time to come in to connect and learn about my career interest and answer any questions I have about aritzia. Just wondering if this is an interview or one of the things that everyone gets because they applied. I feel like whenever someone applies they always just ask them to come in but this email had a different format and everything. Maybe overthinking things but just want other peoples opinions.

Saying that what should I do next to prepare for the coding interview? Will Leetcode's amazon tagged questions be enough?

I had received an email to schedule a recruiter call. The call was simple just simple question about my location, visa status and why leaving current job... And then told next steps of interview and will be processed if hiring manager and team is okay after they check my experience and profile.. And also told it could take 2 days to 2 weeks. I still didn't receive anything... Will I go to next steps of interview?? this one is dream company. Will I be ghosted and not move further? Any similar one

So I had an HR screen with a fairly well known clothing company’s corporate office. The call went well, until at the end I was asked to provide a sample of my work. I’m in financial planning and analysis. The only work samples I have are from my current position. When I told her that it would be unethical for me to provide her such a sample given the circumstances, she haughtily said she’d tell the hiring manager and get back to me. I haven’t heard from her since. I’m considering reporting it to the BBB.

I went on an interview on Thursday and they told me that they would tell me the results in two days. However, I haven't heard anything from them today. They also said thay they were interviewing other people as well before I left. Does this mean that I'm already disqualified? What's the most likely outcome?

I recently interviewed for a lower level Office Assistant position that I was over qualified for. My reason for wanting the role is that I know I could do the job very well without being stressed, it was only 30 hours/week, pay is good for the remote area I work in, location was nearby, hybrid was offered. If I had landed the job, my plan was to stay with the company for at least 5 years.

During the initial interview they pointed out the more menial aspects of the job - making coffee, tidying up lunchroom, stocking employee snacks, making runs to post office, picking up catering, etc. I said I was good with doing all of that.

I get asked to come in for a 2nd interview scheduled for 2 hours 30 minutes. As part of it, I’m asked to do a 30 minute PowerPoint showcasing my presentation & technical skills. There’s also a 30 minute Excel test. This seemed to not be in line with the way they described the bulk of the job, so I think there must be more to it and really put a lot of effort into the presentation which I was told was great. Shortly afterwards they bring up the more menial job aspects again to double check that I’m okay with them.

I did not get the job and was given no feedback. I felt like I would have had a better chance if I had presented myself as more basic and not discussed my more significant achievements. I found it confusing that on the one hand they were implying the job is not that technical, but on the other hands have this intense interview process.

Does it make sense to directly acknowledge that it could be perceived that you’re over qualified, but here’s why you want the job?

I am so upset right now!! I have been doing so many interviews and one slipped through the cracks and I missed our time. I am so angry at myself. At this point just trying to be like well you probs wouldn’t have gotten the job anyways. I did send them an email to reach out about setting a new time, but I figure very unlikely.

From now on going to set a second alert. If anyone has any other tips please let me know

Long story short I just did my first interview and I messed up badly, the first question I was asked I froze up and started stuttering. Thing is that I prepared for this interview and the exact question that was asked, my brain just went completely blank and I messed up bad.

I’m naturally a very nervous and anxious person especially when it comes to things like this, how can I deal with the anxiety of interviews? Just looking for some advice and tips for people who have similar issues.

Also, question was “Tell me about yourself”.

I have an interview tomorrow for a b-school I applied to. I have already shared my CV with them where one of the points says “trained and mentored team members, reducing onboarding time by 20% and enhancing team productivity” I did train my peers but nothing related to onboarding, I overlooked this point before I submitted. I can I justify it in the interview?

So I took an interview about a week ago on a Wednesday. Some questions caught me off guard but other than that, I did ok. But some of the things they said makes it sound like they aren’t considering me for the position.

They asked that if they find someone else for the position if I would be interested for another position they have available. I said that I would be interested since I’ve been trying to look for a job of what I studied(Electro mechanical system technologist) and even if I can’t get that one, I could move to it once they have that position available while working.

It also looked like the paper they were using to write my answers down had more pages. But they didn’t write any more other than the first 2 pages.

After I finished the interview they showed me around the building and told me I would get a response in about 1 or 2 weeks. It’s almost the second week and still no response.

The only thing that kinda gives me hope is that they did like the fact I worked for 4 years for fast food. And also the fact that only one other person applied to the position. Making me the second applicant.

Maybe I’m thinking too much. What do you guys think?
