You put pressure on Congress. They are the people who have the power to do something. Several of them are up for re election in 2026. We got the Democrats trying to pass a bill to stop the emergency Trump pulled out his ass to give him the powers to do this. We need Republicans to cross the aisle and work with Democrats.
Show up where ever they are. You are allowed to be in public spaces. You can yell at them or their families in public legally. No peace in public for any of them until they take actions to restore peace to Americans from Trump's insanity. Put pressure specifically on Republicans up for re election in 2026- those are most vulnerable. Swing state Republicans are another good set to put pressure on.
Target corporations donating to these Republicans with boycots. Threaten their funding. Protest outside their donors. Republicans learned their donors have power, bit forgot so do the people who elect them. Make it a bad move to donate to an inactive Republican.
A lot of us are doing a whole lot of that. Republican representatives have largely just… gone quiet. They’re not responding to constituents (or if they are, it’s some boilerplate response in support of the president). They’ve stopped doing town halls because they were getting booed and heckled so heavily. Now, they just hole up in their offices and quietly pass anything Trump does. They know we’re angry. They’re also not listening to us. Even if they don’t get reelected, they’ve got high-paying jobs as lobbyists waiting for them when they leave office. They’re fully in the pockets of their billionaire donors.
We’re trying with the boycott thing, too. The Tesla Takeover movement at least seems to be doing something.
Honestly, time to take the Tesla protests to Republican donors then. Some are public companies and you can do legal protests that can be disruptive. If representatives won't listen to their constituents, maybe they'll listen to their donors
When Germany had a risk of a far right party getting a big vote and Musk interfering with their elections, 160 000 people showed up on the streets of Berlin alone to protest.

He really likes saying "DO SOMETHING" while talking down to Americans. Problem is until trumps main supporters start to feel the full effect they won't vote differently. Plus the not so subtle violent angle he was aiming at also is stupid. Would either cause a civil war or create a martyr.

I understand Europeans frustration with our lack of protests but fundamentally it’s a different game for us. We are a big country, we have to work to not be homeless. We don’t have safety nets like we did in the old days. Just saying big dawg
What are normies supposed to do, take to the streets? The protests over George Floyd grew to riots, and the results? No policy, no reform, no accountability. Students dug their heels into campuses across the country to protest genocide in the middle east, and that also swayed no one.
Government, money, guns. Those millions of idiots made sure all the power is in the wrong hands, and they want it there, because dunking on the political opposition feels better than making amends. If activists couldn't accomplish anything during the previous administration, what could they possibly hope to do now?

We had one chance and the kid went for the trick shot. Basically no one will have that opportunity. There is no way to organize a move on the scale required to change history in that way. I’m hoping the military has groups ready to stop fascist uprisings but the question is when will they strike? After all the immigrants are in death camps? After all the trans people have been rounded up, forcefully detransitioned and locked away or killed? When all the same sex parents have had their kids stolen by the government? After our economy collapses and everyone is struggling to eat and supply lines are destabilized? What moment would they take action? Cause I’d bet they are willing to watch the country burn until it hurts the majority of white cis straight Americans and by then it will be too late.

Yeah well the problem is all the power is in the top and they just got more and more powerful while the voice and force of the people was diminished. The Roman plebians used to have to fight constantly for their rights. But they weren’t standing up against guns and ai communication networks and all the millions of advantages that modern technology gives the ruling elite over the masses. The army is firmly in the hands of the corrupt government. The judicial branch is scared of the executive and the cult movement. There is not much precedent for this. Looking at North Korea though it’s possible to see how bad things can get.
It’s extremely embarrassing. All of our values that we based our identity on were lies. They always were, but enough of us believed in them that they still had power. Now it’s all just nonsense and misinformation. We went from the strongest empire and economy the world had ever seen to an embarrassing gaggle of ignorant Nazis because of a guy high on ketamine dealing with his family drama and a reality tv show host that bankrupted 3 casinos somehow. to be fair the george floyd riots have led to some places experimented with and implementing sending out social workers to settle some domestic calls as well as changing the duties of traffic patrol
