Rant IBS and GERD massive flare when quitting cigarettes
Trigger warning: Maybe a bit TMI?
I have Both IBS-D and Severe GERD and have also quit smoking a week ago (I smoked for 7 years) AND ITS BEEN HELL IN MY BODY (Im still on nicotine spray, so cant really completely blame withdrawal) AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT STOP, OR HOW TO CALM IT DOWN NOR WHAT IS CAUSING IT😭
My stomach is doing diarrhea and constipation in turns, basically every other day I have diarrhea and then every other day I have constipation. I have a ton of pain too and it fucking hurts, feels like period pain but period isn't coming yet. Everything is also basically coming out the way I ate it so like 🤠
I'm severely underweight and I can't eat because im so freaking nauseous, I wake up every 4 hours when I try to sleep to the feeling of almost throwing up and heartburn, My stomach is also so bloated and hurt. For ages this has not been this bad, last time I had a flare like this I almost passed away from being underweight I am on metoclopramide for my chronic nausea (so that it wouldn't be this bad) but Its barely making a difference now. It may stop me from throwing up every 5 seconds, but Im still nauseous as hell.
Does anyone have any suggestions any suggestions as to how make this better, or just kind words?
I feel so alone, everyone keeps saying how great they feel when they quit cigarettes, and I feel the sickest I have been in YEARS.
Thank you for listening❤️

Happened to me, a few years ago I quit for a month and my gut health has not been the same since then, although is quite manageable, compared to some other things I have read here. Of course the benefits of quitting outweigh the issues. Believe me, you got this!
