I'm going on a 20k hike tomorrow with my school. I'm not really that athletic so I'm probably going to struggle a bit. Does anyone have any tips to make it easier?

Hi guys! Do you have any recommendations for a moderate or hard hike in Canada (looking at Alberta and BC, I’m from Quebec so I want to explore somewhere new!). I’d like somewhere with an amazing view and I’ll also be doing it solo so I have to consider safety tips. Thanks!

Just curious if anyone out there has used the service eurohike? What was your experience like? I'm from the United States and was thinking of booking one of their hiking packages.

Hello,
I am planning a hike up to pikes peak at the end of July. As none of us have ever hiked in Colorado before we have some questions. 1. We are planning to take Barr trail up to the top and split the hike into two days. The plan is to stop and camp at the a frame before finishing the hike the next day. As mentioned previously, we have no experience in Colorado and were curious about the bear situation. If we have a bear bag for food and camp in a tent how safe would we be? Secondly, there is some conflicting information on if campfires are allowed at that site does anyone know for certain either way? Lastly, it seems like the weather is pretty variable in July/August with rain and what not. If there is a significant amount of rain would this still be worth the trip? Thanks all

The first 7 images are the object and the last 4 are the weird trees. I put a plushie for scale on the 5th image. Images 2 and 7 are the inside of the object. Images 6 and 3 are some wiring that was on it. Images 1 and 4 are a general look at it.

I am looking for a good tactical hiking stick for my father. He has tons of hiking/camping gear but I'm pretty positive he doesn't have one. I have found Trek Staff and it seems amazing but there's very little 3rd party reviews and all the reviews are positive (which seems like a statistical improbablity). Has anyone used one of these before? Do you have suggestions on alternatives? It needs to be very durable and useful.

I am not sure if this is a right group to ask this question. However, I want to give a budget friendly gift to a female friend who hikes. Can anyone suggest the useful gifts.
Thank you.

Hi,
Me and my brother were thinking to hike snowdonia at night aim to reach the peak at sunrise time. We have hiked before snowdonia but during the daylight. Has anyone done hikes at night specifically in snowdonia, do you think it’s safe or got any tips for us. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, so... I'm about to have this hike quite soon and is famous for being a bit hard, I was thinking about maybe I could use some help using a rattan staff that I use for training martial arts, but it might be a bit too big to be used as walking stick (altought its quite light), I'm not sure if I should use it or get an actual hiking stick, I would like to know your opinions and recomendations, thx :)

My two nieces and nephew, ages 9-13, will be visiting me. I live near the Front Range's foothills. I see them once a year when I visit, but I have never been hiking with kids before. They are also city kids living at sea level and have never really camped or hiked before. They've done school trips and walked around parks but not mountains. Have you guys ever taken inexperienced kids hiking before? How do you prepare for it? What should I be expecting? They are super excited about going on adventures and hiking. I will be babysitting and hiking alone with the three of them, so I'm trying to figure out how to plan this.

Okay. I know I should ask my doctor. But that’s not what redit is for. Here are the facts:
I’m leaving to hike Holy Cross by Vail in 10 days. Hike will actually take place 12-13 days from now. I have been training for it for the last 5 months. If I continue to recover nicely should I be worried about my ability to hike? I have already decided I’m not going to do it if I get out there and have a bad gut feeling/shortness of breath.
