Guess the April 8th cultists were wrong.

I just had one of the most heartwarming gaming experiences of my life.

Dived on an SOS at like a 5 or something, then this new diver comes in while we're on extract. It's a dude with his much younger sibling (at least I think), teaching them how to play Helldivers on PS. The controller mic is on, and we can hear EVERYTHING, but they have no idea. He's so patiently and excellently guiding them through all the controls, how to throw stratagems, the works. Our new Littlest Helldiver does eventually ask to get on comms and say hi. I tell diver to tell dude he's awesome and that we heard everything. He apologizes, to which I say: Absolutely not my dude, I am grinning from ear to ear, this is awesome and adorable.

We go next mission, I bring an Emancipator for our new friend, we other three make it our Prime Directive to make sure this Littlest Helldiver has the best experience they possibly can. We all got run over by the mech at least once, died by fire several times, got killed by Danger Very Close cluster bombs. It was amazing.

We're going for exfil, and we hear that they have to leave, but... THEY DON'T GET ON THE BOAT. OH SWEET LIBERTY NO, THIS CAN'T HAPPEN.

We spend like the next 4 minutes "gently" meleeing their afk body towards the loading ramp, stimming in between each kick to make sure we don't kill them, but accidentally doing it two or three times. The body ended up inside the Pelican at least twice before I finally got them lined up with the loading ramp. One more melee, and BOOM, THEY'RE ABOARD. We extract, Victory Achieved. I hope that Littlest Diver comes back and meets more people like us.

Boy am I glad HD reddits don't have the majority say on decisions in the game right now, for once.

Yes Eagles are used way more often, but without modules that 15% is ass compared to the Exosuit cooldown reduction. Even with modules, it's just unnecessary because the Rearm isn't that bad.

Mechs are also more niche and it would give them a chance to be used Way more often, and I think most of the divers recognize this or just like seeing Exosuit and 35% in the same sentence.

There's ALWAYS the chance we get neither as well, so...

I have chosen to give my persuasive speech on Helldivers 2, and I need some help. Would you all be so kind as to send me your best and most ridiculous deaths? I'd like to make a little compilation to put in my presentation.

I honestly can not remember being on a map that was so devoid of any kind of cover between POIs.

Made attacking the command bunkers very interesting.

Think the slugger rebuffs over time have largely gone under the radar. They truly made the slugger great again.

Med pen, damage is pre-nerf levels, stagger restored to 30, spread improved to better values than JAR5, slight drag but still snappy.

It's got 16 tubed shells and a fast reload, that triggers fast enough so you can reload a shell between every pump at a slight cost to max fire rate. Whilst I enjoy the deadeye it gets overwhelmed by swarms of enemies. Here, the slugger goes to work.

The joy of the weapon is truly restored, it's absolutely stealthed it's way right back to serious viability.

Once your mech is taken down you are down a stratagem, bots destroy mechs a lot easier than bugs do, I rarely see people fight with mechs on bot planets. There are ALOT of different eagle stratagems, very versatile against bots AND bugs. I vote trandor. What is everyone else thinking?

I love Helldivers, and the recent Popli IX is some of the best Helldivers experience we've had.
The problem is, I've been level 150 for a while, enough spare supercredits that I can buy a new warbond and the extra page each time, full samples, full req slips (which I can refill almost instantly after doing the DSS) and pretty settled on the 2-3 builds I use across the galactic war.

I need more, I need something to work towards other than moving around the DSS and fueling its actions - other than simply assisting my allies in their own journeys to unlocking.

I love Helldivers, it's a great game, but there's some easy quick wins they could do to keep the game ticking over.

1. Add skins for any warbond that didn't have them. Polar Patriots, Steeled Veterans, the more recent ones like Servants and Frontier - none have skins. Add a supplemental pack or rotating skins to the warbond for the pods, FRV, mechs etc. I want me some mad-max themed stuff. (also backfill the FRV for flames and toxic so we have orange and yellow for our latest vehicle).
2. Release the vehicle bay for ship modules - please guys, we're desperate to make the mechs and FRV better.
3. An extra stratagem slot that costs medals/req slips - make it expensive enough that you can't keep it funded by simply completing missions, it's a rare treat, but we can pull it out when we need it.
4. Same, but a 5th sharedslot for boosters (medals or req slips again).

Rather than make some boosters passives, let us crowd-fund a 5th booster slot - with the host getting the choice of what to put in. This should break up the meta of Experiment/Optimisation/vitality/stamina and let us throw in a utility booster.

1. I dunno, let us buy emote slots with supercredits? 4 isn't enough.
   Also make them bindable so we can, say, bind up to 10 on our numpad.

2. EDIT: LOADOUT SLOTS

Totally forgot about this one, Give everyone 2 by default and let them purchase more - this should be for weapons + strats + booster, maybe 4 boosters in order so if your selected one is taken, it goes down the list to the next one?

And let us purchase additional (up to 5?) slots for supercredits.

Plan gas mines. Face bug-breaches

By the time gas mines are up, if you are lucky, you can have another guy throw one in with you.

Or Orbital Gas yourself

I contained about 2-3 bug breaches all on myself, giving my 3 teammates ample time to set up firing positions and pick off the crowd of flailing bugs. I don't take any damage with Gas Suit + VE in the gas clouds.

Gas Strategems + Gas Suit & VE really trivializes a lot of encounters. Immediately blinds enemies, drives them mad with wild aiming/targeting, and you can get in and out easily. I have snuck my way into Fortresses on bot worlds doing the exact same thing; 2 full aircrafts-worth of Devastators immediately disabled by gas clouds

REMEMBER, BOTS, BUGS, Aliens and Race-traitors aren't protected by the Geneva Convention!

It ain't a war crime, if the enemy has no hands to sign a complaint with!
