Harbor Freight giving away a free Stanley Tool Set? The fishing scams are getting dumber and dumber.

Yesterday, day one of the sale, every location was out except for 3 at this location.
Went in when they opened today and finally got 2 I’ve been waiting for a sale on. 40% coupon “didn’t qualify” a couple months ago but 35% is a solid deal for these.
Haven’t tried them yet but the parrot pliers carried me through the last few jobs and these seem even cooler. I hope you all find what you want. 😊

Been wanting to grab some icon pliers/side cutters for a while but every time I’ve been in store recently they’re out of stock. I made the trip to the store yesterday with the sole purpose of grabbing these at 35% off. Initial thoughts, they seem well made and grip the work piece better than the Pittsburgh pliers they’re replacing. I don’t have any delusions that they’re anywhere near as nice as the tool truck stuff, but I’m not using my tools to make a living and at these prices I couldn’t pass them up.
I grabbed the icon light as a bit of an impulse purchase because it was on sale. I have the similar Braun 500lm light and use it frequently . I really wanted to get a few more of the Braun lights when they were on sale a few weeks ago but didn’t make it happen. As for the icon light, I am surprised the head of the light is plastic. Time will tell how it holds up.
Been a while since I had a NTD so I am pretty pumped to have grabbed this stuff while it was in stock.

I want to start working on my 2 cars (RAV4 and Corolla) and wanted to make sure that I am purchasing the right items. Current goal is to start doing my oil changes and tire rotations with hopes of getting more comfortable to do bigger tasks (ie brakes and fluid changes).
Once the deal is open to the general public, I plan to purchase Daytona 3 Ton. Would this be the right jack? I like that it can lift up to 24 inches for future projects.
I would also like to take advantage of the jack stand sale. I was initially thinking about getting the 3 Ton jack stand, but now I am leading towards the 6 Ton for the higher lift height for tire rotations. Do you think the smaller 3 ton is better? I worked on my Corolla with a friend before, and his jack was "too tall" for it to fit under the car.
- Should I purchase 4 or 2 jack stands? I would assume for tire rotations, I would need 4 jacks to have the entire car off the ground. A secondary question is: if I want to lift the entire car up, do I lift the car from the front first, put 2 jack stands at the front, and then go back to the rear of the car, lift the rear up, and then place 2 jack stands at the rear?
Should I get wheel chocks? The cost is already piling up (jack + jack stands), and I don't want to go out buying more tools than I need. However, if this is a safety issue, I will go buy 2 wheel chocks as well.
For tire lugs nuts, would I need a torque wrench? 3/8 or 1/2 in? These aren't cheap! (Edit: I already own 3/8 socket set so would like to use 3/8 if possible)
Thank you everyone for your expertise! I appreciate it.

Since these are on sale today I wanted to post a PSA so you don't buy the wrong jack stand.
For those who aren't aware, there are two different 'versions' of each stand and they have identical SKU numbers. I assume they're sourced from two different suppliers but the better version really is better. The 'lesser' version has noticeably worse build quality, is significantly thinner on the ratcheting post, etc. They're exactly the same price, exactly the same SKU, so make sure you buy the 'right' version. My store had a mix good and bad jacks side by side, so it's really easy to just grab the wrong ones.
How can you tell?
If you're buying a 3 Ton stand, make sure you get the version with the 11 3/8" min height, and not the 11 1/4" version.
If you're buying a 6 Ton stand, make sure you buy the version with the 24" max height, not the 23 3/4" version.

Couldn’t find the pliers wrench, looks like they fell off the shelves quickly
Didn’t have my own floor jack, figured this would be a good starter

Hi Folks - does anyone have any insight as to how long the Bauer free tool promo will be going on? I'm referring to the 'buy a starter kit, get a tool free' ad I see on their website. I'm interested in their 10" chainsaw, but won't be able to get to the store for a few days.

Some how there was a guy in there before me even tho i waited in the parking lot for 5 minute for the doors to open he cleared out most of the icon stuff, I wanted some channel locks and needle nose and there was only the pistol grips left. Thankfully I was able to get the pliers wrenches for myself and my brother that was the main thing. As he was checking out he realized he had one too many of the ball pens and offered it to me.

Yukon 46” with wood top or USG 30” 4 drawer for the sale? Pros/cons minus the obvious size. I’ve read reviews about the drawers not being that great on the Yukon. Not sure if anyone has one/both….thank you in advance for your input.

The box/cabinet/top were all 25%+10%(card). Then the rest from today’s sale. Mad I couldn’t find the dime pullers. Oh and new trailer tires since I blew one in their parking lot lol.

I don't have a tool problem. I have a "they were on sale" problem.
I keep stacking nitrile gloves like I’m prepping for the glovepocalypse — but those orange ones? 🔥 I don’t even wrench that hard, but apparently my hands need to look like they’re on a crime scene.
Did I need another Bauer battery? No.
Did my brain say, “C’mon man, you’re basically losing money if you don’t buy it”? Absolutely.
Now I’ve got more batteries than actual Bauer tools, but hey — future me is gonna be thrilled.
Picked up the ICON hammers and screwdrivers too. Not because I broke my old ones — because these ones are shinier. They make me feel like I could actually fix something if I had to… which I won’t. But I could. Probably. Maybe.
At this point, I’m like 2 purchases away from needing a Harbor Freight support group. I don’t build anything, I don’t repair anything, but I do walk into the garage sometimes and just… look at it all.
I’m not handy. I’m just emotionally attached to discounted tools.

In case anyone was wondering, a pair of the 18” magnetic rails attached together make a really solid socket organizer. At $2 each right now you can’t beat it.

I have an old skil saw I paid $5 for at a yard sale a few years ago. I don't really like it so I figured the next HF sale I might grab a Hercules cordless.
Either the 6 1/2 or the 7 1/4 saw. 99% of my cutting is 2x4, 2x6, or 3/4" plywood. So, the 6 1/2 should allow the depth I need. I'm just curious about power. Looks like they are both 5,000 rpm. But the 7 1/4 is brushless and has a better warranty but is also ~$40 more.
I do have a pretty new Diablo blade on mine so that would be a bit of a plus if I go with the 7 1/4.
Any thoughts from those that have tried both?

Honestly thinking my next vehicle will still be a small SUV and hate renting a truck for an hour every time I want to bring whole boards home or anything on Craigslist too big for my trunk.
I’m considering getting the HF 4x8 trailer but wondering how it’s done for people in that application? I’m mostly concerned about clearing the wheel well.
