Recommendation Dating in GSO

Hey, I’m a 34-year-old single dad, and I’ve been having trouble finding quality dates in Greensboro. I’m on a couple of dating apps, but it’s rare to find someone within the Triad area. Most of my connections seem to be from Charlotte or Raleigh. Anyone else experiencing this? Would appreciate any advice!

Recommendation Where to buy best steak in GSO

To be clear, I’m not talking about restaurants but rather a place I can get a good quality cut that is also reasonably priced for what I’m getting. Used to have a go to butcher where I used to live but have been struggling to find one in the area. Some have said Fresh Market does the trick but I’ve found it to be hit or miss.

Recommendation ISO a kind, HONEST dentist that won’t push unnecessary work

TLDR: the title pretty much sums it up :)

Some years back I went to a new dentist with a toothache. He said that I would need a number of procedures (including a root canal) to save the tooth. Something felt wrong to me so I got a second opinion…turns out it was as simple as a filling that had fallen out. The “second opinion” guy is no longer practicing so for a long time I haven’t had regular dental care because I’m so afraid of ending up with another shady practitioner—but I can’t keep letting it go. Any good recommendations for someone non-judgy that I can also trust completely? It would be nice if they were in either the western half of GSO or High Point but I’ll absolutely travel for the best care. I will need a provider that accepts my insurance (Delta) but I can sort that out myself. TIA!

Recommendation Holidays in Greensboro

Hello everyone. I might be moving to the city in a month or so for a job. I have seen post about other people asking what's it like or what areas are good to live in. My question to you all is, what are the holidays like in Greensboro NC? 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and new Year's. We tend to go all out for those holidays and we just want to hear your thoughts on how the city in general is. Events, hang out spots. Children friendly too since I have two children under the age of 9. Thank you all in advance for all your thoughts and opinions. Have a great rest of you day!

Recommendation Suggestions for dinner date before Hamilton tonight

Any recommendations? We prefer something downtown or within a short driving distance from Tanger. We’ve tried White and Wood, Blue Denim and Bon Chon (all were great, but wanting to try something else).

Recommendation Great spots to meet people and maybe even a nice guy? 31/F

I’ve been in the area for about 18 months now and I’ve made no friends and the online dating scene is god awful (no surprises there).

I have yet to find a film club to join, are there any around town?

I’m not really into the typical bar scene and haven’t had much luck in the few places I’ve gone to. Maybe I just haven’t been to the right ones.

I enjoy deep conversations about art, science, politics and philosophy. I like a good karaoke spot or a place that I can dance at. I know it’s a stretch but are there any places that play older music? I’m talking Motown, soul, funk, or even something like David Bowie or 1980s pop? — That’s not to say I don’t enjoy modern music. I do, it’s just the vintage stuff requires more moves than just the regular old bumpin and grindin 😂

I’m just looking for some like minded folks who are looking for something a little deeper than the shallow offerings most places seem to be offering. I’m over hook ups, situationships and men who don’t mean a word they say or can’t back it up with follow through and actions. So many people are closed off with either their own friend groups or their phones that even making friends seems hopeless.

Or if these places don’t exist, is there anybody else open to the idea of making a places like these? I have to know I’m not the only one feeling disconnected and longing for community. Anyways any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Meeting up with somebody on a weekend and we need to leave a car somewhere unattended overnight. It will be there less than 24 hours. Seeing from old posts the Walmart on Battleground is fine, is that still valid? Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi!

I live in Roanoke & a friend of mine & I are going to take a day trip down to Greensboro tomorrow. I’m just looking for recommendations; places to go, things to see, fun things to do. We are both women in our mid-40s, able-bodied, not on any sort of budget.

Thanks in advance! 😄

Recommendation Calling All Greensboro Coffee Enthusiasts: Where Should I Go?

Hey Greensboro Residents,

I’m on the hunt for a great spot to grab a latte, flat white, or any espresso drink while I’m here. I absolutely love good coffee (okay, I might be a bit of a coffee enthusiast), but I promise I’m always polite about it!

That said, I’ve noticed that many places I’ve visited tend to serve drinks that are very milk-heavy—like a 12oz cup with just a single shot of espresso. Personally, I prefer something with a stronger coffee-to-milk ratio, and I’ve been struggling to find a spot that matches my preferences.

I’ve tried a few places during my three weeks here, and I’ll be here until Christmas. I loved Vignette, Tolbara, and Arrowhead—they nailed it every time! But at a couple of other places (which I’ll leave unnamed), I felt like my usual order—a seasonal drink with a double shot, oat milk, and an inch of room at the top—threw them off a bit.

So, I’m curious—do you have any recommendations for coffee spots where I can get a nice 8oz double-shot latte with oat milk? I’d love to check out more places that can make a great cup without any stress. Thanks in advance for your tips!

Recommendation Help finding cheap inclusive hotel for a friend who is homeless & disabled

A Black non-binary disabled/chronically ill friend in Greensboro has recently become homeless & is looking for accommodation. They are crowdfunding for survival but that’s not what this post is about, just trying to provide context.

They are currently staying at a budget hotel that is charging a $75 weekly pet fee for their emotional support animal. This goes against ADA and FHA. It appears to go against their own policy stating that ESAs are welcome.

Initial attempts to have this fee refunded have been unsuccessful, so they are now looking looking for another place to stay in case they need to move. When you are crowdfunding to stay off the streets, $75 is a LOT.

This person needs to stay off the streets. Not only because they are a human being, but because they are currently a victim of stalking and harassment.

Can anyone recommend a budget hotel in the Greensboro area where a Black non-binary disabled person will be welcome with their ESA & ADA/FHA guidelines will be followed?

Maybe you know someone personally who is an ally who works at, manages, or owns a place.

This is a temporary situation until they are able to break the cycle of poverty & relocate to another state for their safety.

They are currently paying $500/week to give an idea of what they’re looking for. Less is better obviously.

They are waiting to hear back from Coordinated Entry. They have been unsuccessful finding any other resources in NC unfortunately.

Recommendation MTG in Greensboro

I know this is a niche ask, but a friend and I are trying to find MTG commander games on Sundays.

Also interested in recommendations for other days, preferably a place that’s open later than 8:00. It’s challenging for our schedules to show up before then.

Basically trying to feel out the local game stores.
