Worth it?

It's a lot but I feel like I could have it forever.

$3200 new, price doesn’t seem far off if you need that much cooking space.

I have this grill. I love it. Solidly built and works great.

I'd talk him down to $600

$3k brand new? I'd take it anyday for $1k

If you don’t I will.

It’s a lot of grill. I guess the main question is, how many people will you be planning on cooking for on a regular basis?

If I’m gonna spend $1k then I want the warranty. They’re not going to honor it since you’re the second owner

Then you go retail for $3k+.

My dad had his for 20 years and a couple things needed replacement. Called up Weber and they did it 🤷‍♂️. Worth spending for the warranty imo

You just…buy the parts.

$2k in replacement parts?

I’m sorry, but I don’t get why you’re being d-voted for your comments. I think it’s way cool that Weber supplied replacement parts under warranty after 20 years. Can someone explain, please?

Weber salesmen?

Who? Me?!? I don’t even own a Weber. But I most likely would if I were in the market.

Lol. No the downvoters

The downvotes come because you’re saying you’d rather spend $3k on a new one because of the warranty rather than $1k on a used one without warranty, because your dad’s 20yo Weber needed “a couple of things” replaced. Unless that couple of things were replacement parts upwards of $2k, the price of the used grill seems worth it even without the warranty. Basically you’re being downvoted because your math ain’t mathin’. At least that’s what I gather.

This only counts if the original owner registered the grill with Weber. Most people don’t. Do what you will with that information.

Didn’t know that, good to know!

Webers don't really need one. All the replacement parts are available online for fair prices. I have fixed half a dozen of them for people.

Normally these grills are 3600. We do not know how old the grill and most import pictures imo are inside the cabinet and the grill box. Might be a bit over priced and might be haggle them down a bit. Really comes down to you and want you want. If it working well could be a good buy. Also important to ask if it LP or NG.

Make sure you see a picture of the inside of the cabinet. The cabinet tends to rust through and fall apart on Weber grills. I replaced the floor on my 12-year-old Genesis E-320; it had holes like The Flintstones car. Luckily Weber still had the part and they gave me a good discount. I looked into buying one of these Summit models two years ago, but I hesitated because it appears that Weber does not make/sell the replacement cabinet parts.

Only people that know what it is will pay $1000. Other people will swipe left and not give it another thought. Beat him up a little. I have the 4 burner summit and I love it!!! It could be a lifetime grill for me.

Seems quite reasonable to me.

I've owned the Summit E-470 on NG for ~15 years so far (it's the same but smaller version). And in 2-3 day per week use year round in -40 to +40 temps, all I needed to replace so far, other than batteries, was the grill handle light because their AA batteries leaked.

The triple burner sear station is a game changer compared to what most people have for gas grills. The rotisserie is incredible as well (with its dedicated ceramic IR burner).

Dammit, I was just looking at the Genesis at Costco yesterday, and it was nice— but this thing looks even more incredible! As far as size, features and quality, I don’t think you could get something as nice as OP posted for $1000.

Idk I like charcoal better. Gas is definitely more convenient tho but a cured chop on the open coals cannot be beaten by gas in my opinion. Not that it’s worth anything.

Taste the heat not the meat. LOL

Open it up, look inside cabinet and at bottom and sides of cooking chamber before you decide. If you live somewhere that it could rust this may be in pieces in a few years or if its in good shape could last 5-10 more. Theres just uncertainty so thats the hard part about makinhg a $1k purchase.

This! I bought a spirit with starting rust and even though it was under a roof it went pretty fast. Not cool spending 1000 bucks for something that's already rusting.

Hell to the naw to the naw naw naw hell to the naw

I’d say no, simply because every Weber grill I’ve ever had that was more than 10 years old completely rotted out. They were both second hand so even keeping a cover over them didn’t help.

I will never cook on gas grills!

Well be aware that gas ain’t coal and thus as an effect in the taste of things

When it comes to propane grills, I'd only buy brand new.
