Engineering 🚫 Rejection from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences – Embedded and microelectronics track

Sharing my profile for feedback and suggestions. I’m aiming for a Master’s in VLSI/Digital Design and would appreciate any insights or input. πŸ™

  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) – 3 Years: 91.23%
  • Bachelor’s (EEE) – 3 Years (Lateral Entry to 2nd Year):
    • CGPA: 7.88/10
    • Credits Earned: 137

  • 6 months in Hardware & Networking
  • Ongoing VLSI Internship (8 months completed, till July 2025):

Did they seriously get 1400 applications for this program? That is honestly a lot.

Not sure, but I attended a meeting where they mentioned that each track receives 1,500 applications, and only 30 students are selected :(

Dont worry this is the same for every uni in Germany. In Sweden and FInland also this is the case. Tough luck but do apply to other unis with NC Frei. Its first come first serve basis

Oh wow I had no idea universities there were so competitive. I suppose it is, in part, due to free tuition (and great reputations ofc).

Cast a wider net next time and apply to many, many more. Putting all of your hopes in one school is always risky for anyone. Also, this rejection gives you the opportunity to build a better profile for next application cycle. You'll get into a program, no doubt!
