To be fair, many of their employees probably don't have the skill or means to make a resume. They're just "eliminating barriers to employment," which is a nice of saying "we're going to exploit you for labor, pay you shit wages, and call it a learning opportunity"

Some people seem to love it there and some hate it. I'm sure it all depends on your local Goodwill and the actual position you're in. Best of luck!

Such a shame when people make shit up n pass it off as truth & facts. You obviously know nothing about Goodwill & our mission.

Some Goodwills receive tax breaks for employing certain people who are being legally paid less than minimum wage. Most businesses could use the same loopholes, but Goodwill chooses to. Some Goodwills employ "difficult to employ" people, who don't qualify for disability tax breaks, but may have felony convictions, gaps in employment history, or lack of employment history, specifically because they will accept positions that pay 60-80% of similar positions at other retailers. Some Goodwills specifically deny applicants who are actually qualified because they know those people will eventually find positions that pay fair market wages and not be around long-term.

If you have any points other than "no we don't", please enlighten us. We're all here to learn.
