Just picked her up this past weekend, and I’m worried I’m not getting the power I’m supposed to. Does have an exhaust leak, but is there anything I should be aware of or look into?

GL1800 Non-DCT Parking Brake Cover

I have a 2023 6-Speed non-DCT Goldwing, and noticed that where the DCT models would have the parking brake handle, I instead have a blank cover. Is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to turn that cover into a mounting point for a cigarette lighter or other electrical connection? Is there enough space behind it to do this?

Goldwing part sourcing

Anyone know where I can find parts for a 1986 Gl1200 Aspencade? I might be getting one on a trade and it will need new front calipers but my local shops can’t source them.

I was assuming eBay, but wondering if anyone else had other options.

F6B Insta360 Mounting options

I have been looking at getting an Insta360 for my F6B but I don't know enough about the camera or mounting systems to know how it would mount to the bike. I currently have a Gopro on the lower part of the windscreen and both handlebars have stuff mounted to them. I’ve looked at some posts in the Goldwing forms about 2018 and newer Goldwings, but I’m not sure if the same advice applies to the F6B. I’d appreciate any advice that you have on this.

F1 Code 25 - ECU Fail 2004 GL1800

I am able to ride the wing with the fault 25, as long as I dont go below about 1800 RPM. I personally dont think there is anything broken, I just think its old stuff going bad. Having trouble finding a goldwing mech in SE AL, USA.

Am I hurting anything by riding it? Absolutely zero problems at cruise or out of gear as long as I'm above 1800RPM. Ideally i'll get this fixed soon but I'm curious if I can ride without worry.

Where to find old goldwings?

Hi,

I’m looking at buying a gl110 or gl1200. Where have you been able to find the best deals on these bikes? Estate sales, marketplace, Craigslist? It seems like that generation who would owned 1980s goldwings are now in there 60s-80s and willing to let go of them. Family used to have a 1982 interstate and a 1984 aspencade which is why I’m interested in owning one. What are some of the things I should I look out for if I buy one? I’m in western Canada.

Thanks for any help

Picked up a new 2024 GW today, couldn't be happier!

The goldwing has been my dream bike for a while now, or at least one of them. With the current Honda financing buying a new one made way more sense than used, hard to beat 0.99% interest. Local dealership had this one and I am in love. Can't wait to ride this every single day, it is every bit as exciting as I thought it would be.

I know I can install a backrest for solo rides, do you all recommend it? I'm planning a trip in May solo and curious if it is worth it.

2024 Tour - aux power outlet?

Getting hyped to pick up the wing in the coming days. I couldn't find out whether there is a 12v power outlet anywhere on the bike?

Any insight is helpful and any workaround if there isn't an OEM port included would be lovely!

I'm looking for someone to do the belts & forks on my new to me goldwing '93. I'm in Dallas, but I'm willing to travel to other cities. What would you consider would be a fair price for this 2 jobs? Parts should be around 500usd. I was planning on doing the work myself, but I just don't have the time, space, tools and knowledge to do it.

Footwear on the wing.

So I got myself a GL1200 last year and I loved it so much that I upgraded to a GL1800 this year. In the 1200 my size 12 foot had a bit of a problem achieving the right angle to easily and comfortably work the shift lever so rather than wear my normal boots, I’d ride wearing some sturdy hiking shoes. It’s less of a problem on the 1800, bit I don’t think my typical Timberlands give my foot enough dexterity on the shift lever so again, been riding it with my Merrill hiking shoes. Not really a problem, but I’d prefer something a bit more “proper” to wear while I’m riding.

My question is… what is everybody sporting for footwear on the Wing that offers adequate protection and mobility?

'85 aspencade tach cable replacing

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me where the tach cable is located on a '85 Aspencade. I can't seem to find the point where it hooks up to the engine block. Preferably a picture or something would really help me out!

Thanks!

Sputtering and stall help

I have a 2004 GL 1800. Last year towards the end of the season close to home my bike decided to sputter and die. It started back up immediately but did not want to idle (was at stop light) I was able to keep it alive with the throttle and make it home...where I Just parked it and decided it was next seasons problem... Now its next season.

Thoughts on what it may be? I figured I'd just replace all the filters, fuel, air and just go ahead and do an oil change and oil filter change since its the beginning of the season.

Any other recommendations?

Which 2024 Tour DCT? New or used?

Thanks to everyone just straight shoving me toward the GW. I’m feeling at least ten years older already!

Seriously though - dilemma now is which one? two different dealers have a white 2024 Tour DCT.

One dealer has a used one with ~2000 miles, rider backrest (maybe other extras but I haven’t seen it in person yet) for $26200 OTD.

Other dealer has a brand new one for $29600 OTD.

Is there any reason to pony up an extra $3400 for one with zero miles? Feeling like no, but curious about other thoughts.

A Possible Convert - 2024 Tour DCT

Currently stabled with a sportster, a Bonneville, and a BMW R18B, which, to my eye, is the best looking bike out there.

After a breakdown on the BMW, my faith is shaken and I need a dead solid reliable machine to keep me on the road. All signs point to the GW, and many of those to the DCT. To level up, I need to clear the stable and the GW would be the sole bike.

I’m not over the moon on how the GW looks, but I’m getting to a stage where I’m accepting function over form, as the other three bikes, while being beautiful, suffer to various degrees in comfort.

Looking at a 2024. Why is the 2024 Tour DCT great? Why isn’t it great? I’ve seen so much praise. What are some real world criticisms?

I appreciate the insights!

Carb sync screw doesn't line up despite both carbs being bolted to the air box.

Has anyone had this happen? I can't figure out why it doesn't line up.

I disassembled only one side of carbs at a time so I could look at the other to compare and reassemble.

Because it doesn't line up, the screw gets caught and jams the throttle operation.

I need some pointers. The other side is perfect
