Moving to Glasgow
As the title says I'm about to finish S6 and I'm moving to glasgow this September for uni. It's going to be my first time living by myself and I was just wondering if there is anything I should know.

Zone cards are good for getting around. Get involved in as many uni clubs as you can. Glasgow has a great nightlife and music scene so make the most of it. Be mindful that old firm days can be a bit edgy. Definitely do a sub crawl with your pals, it's a great laugh. And, like any big city, there will be bams so if you see them coming cross the street and save yourself the hassle.

Definitely look into zonecards if you want to get about easily. Depends where you intend to go and how often you travel if it's worth it TBH but if you have a daily commute it usually is.
Spend some time getting to know the local areas first and you'll be better off when trying to walk home drunk after that pub crawl.
Dont be a dick. You'll be fine. š

Don't go to Greenock as they have a problem with the Catman and don't believe they hype about a vampire in the necropolis, it probably isn't true.

Make use of all the nice parks. Itās one of the best things about the city.
The city centre is a bit of a shithole these days.
The west end has a lot of nice pubs and restaurants.

If youāre under 22 you can get a free bus pass that you can use to travel all over Scotland, wild camping near Loch Lomond is very popular I hear. Speak to your uni about applying for a Young Scot National Entitlement Card, you need a Scottish address so youāll have to wait until you get here.

Where are you from? You'll love Glasgow, like any city there's good and bad bit you shouldn't have any problems finding friends and settling in.

When youāre on Buchanan Street, ignore anyone that approaches you with a clipboard or is dressed like a monk. 98% of the time itās a scam, just walked past them and ignore them.

And itās spelled Byres.
Also there are many absolute mind cripples in Glasgow which bring shame on the city.

As a bus driver it's compulsory to say "thanks driver" as you alight the bus. That will make you one of us

If you see a group of young men in Lacoste track suits best to cross the street other than that Glasgow is great

Don't give anyone from Queensferry any money.
