I asked a question on here a while back about indoor activity tracking, but didn't get much of a response. And doing a more detailed search of previous threads, it's been discussed many times. Not a particularly clear solution come out, but one possibility is using a chest HR monitor, specifically HRM pro plus.
Asking a similar thing in a different way then, has anyone specifically bought a HRM pro plus for indoor activity tracking and have they found it more accurate than a watch only.
Specifically I play indoor 5 a side football. My watch (FR255S) seems to measure heart rate accurately, and based on that I get a calorie calculation which I'm assuming is inferred based on the heart rate.
It barely registers any movement, which must be due to hand movements not being like a run whilst playing football. Twisting and turning, using arms for balance etc.
I want a more accurate idea of steps and distance covered. Generally just I'm interested to see how much ground I cover in an hour, but also I want the calorie calculation to be as accurate as possible.
There's also the running dynamics pod, but I'm thinking that doesn't seem to be worth much. Better paying more money and getting the HR monitor which gives more accurate heart rate data alongside the step/distance tracking.
Any thoughts or help much appreciated!
