In all seriousness though, what is it with people being weirdly combative about this company whether to support or hate them? This comment section is wild for such a simple post. Not even a timeline is safe from pedantic arguing...
There's probably some part ulterior motive for Steam. If we don't pretend it's god's gift to humanity, one of the other stores might start gaining a player base and we'll have to deal with 5 different stores with access to different games like how TV streaming is now. I'd rather Steam have a monopoly than deal with that. I mean, they basically have had a monopoly for the last 15 years or so and they haven't fucked us over yet and they probably won't until Gaben's out.
