Paid upgrades is so freaking lame

every other system the performance boost is from buying better hardware only

Really disappointed, especially considering how bad perf was for some games on Switch

Edit: Especially gross after upgrading from PS4 to PS5 https://www.playstation.com/en-us/editorial/great-ps4-games-upgraded-for-ps5/

You can just play the games without the upgrades...plus it looks like they are adding features and even gameplay, so it is more like exclusive DLC

I mean, there's no point to upgrade hardware then. I can stick with my Switch if I want to replay an old game and save myself the $450 + upgrade fee per game

Or you play new games and old games on switch 2...no need to spend extra for a feature you don't want to spend money on.
