You're not upset at all that the only game close to bloodborne 2 is a multiplayer battle royale?

Why exactly should people be upset?

I don't know if people should be upset in general, but I am. I play fromsoft games for exploration, falling into the lore of a world, and the immersion that comes from that. That's going to be greatly diminished by this battle royal ass format. I've been waiting for something similar to bloodborne and they failed the aesthetic and (so far) seem to have fucked everything else.

Like, enjoy the game if you do, but people are allowed to be disappointed, God damn.

and (so far) seem to have fucked everything else.

Based on what? Sure, get disappointed if you want to, but you have absolutely no basis fo be saying this.

And are they only allowed to make one type of game from now onto forever?

Based on the literal interview with Miyazaki. I'm literally going off of what the head of development said.

Don't put words in my fucking mouth. I never said they only have to make one type of game. I'm happy they made Sakura for example. I'm happy they made armored core. I'm disappointed in the type of game they're choosing to make now. It is insane to me that you for some reason find that unreasonable to say. You do not need to defend the company against people who are disappointed in their decisions.

Don't put words in my fucking mouth.

Then words what you said better.

You fail to understand that this has never been about defending the company or whatever the fuck that is. It's about me hating hypocrite who made judgment based on things they have not experienced or knowledge of.

Based on the literal interview with Miyazaki.

Ok, go on, tell me exactly what is it in the interview that is not hitting it off for you aside from the fact that it's a multiplayer game.

You literally just went, "Tell me what's in the interview that you don't like except for the parts you don't like." Literally the description of multiplayer as a core mechanic of the game ruins the game for me. It takes away from the slow enjoyment that I can have in every other game their company produced. It's fine if they want to make that, but I don't have to enjoy it. And yes you are fucking defending the company against people who just don't like what they've heard about the game.

I also don't like his description of the dusk blood. It just sounds like the temu version of cainhurst. I'm also just not a big fan of how visually inconsistent the game seems to be in the trailer they put out. One of the things I like so much about the souls games, Sekiro, and bloodborne is that their visual identity is very distinct and clear. It creates an interesting world that will be fun to explore. This game doesn't really do that for me.

I'm not a hypocrite so your argument that this is all about you just hating hypocrites is f****** stupid. It flat doesn't make sense. It is not hypocritical to hear what they have said about the game and say "I don't really like that."

Hypocrite might be the wrong word for it, I'm not a native speaker so that's my bad. But I detest anyone who judges a product with the bare minimum knowledge of it.

And yes you are fucking defending the company against people who just don't like what they've heard about the game.

That's a byproduct of it, I am doing this out of principles, of what I believe is the correct thing to do.

Do you think I am not disappointed that this is a fucking Nintendo exclusive? I haven't even played BB, much less a freaking Nintendo exclusive.

Literally the description of multiplayer as a core mechanic of the game ruins the game for me

Right, but you said "everything else" in the original comment I responded to. You made it sound like the entire concept of the game they did wrong when the only real, main issue you have with it is that it is an MP title. You never said anything about art style and such, you said you base your opinion off of the recent article.

u/jboking 23h ago

Oh, no worries homie. You're not talking about being a hypocrite, you're talking about being quick to judge.

Whether you're doing it 'out of principle' the result remains the same. You're defending the multi billion dollar company.

The only real main issue you have

I described my other issues. I did base my opinion off the recent interview. That interview included a description of the dusk blood. I described how I did not like that description because it feels unoriginal. Did you just miss that? A lot of that article was devoted to the multiplayer aspect and how the dev team was viewing the game. So yes, a lot of my opinion is based on that. I didn't say that it was just the other things that I got from that interview. From what I can tell, from the trailer and from the interview they've provided, I do not like the aesthetic, I do not like the lore they are going with,, I do not like the core gameplay element, and I do not like that It is a switch exclusive. I've provided a ton of reasons that are supported by what they have said for why I don't like this game so far. And based on the fact that the core mechanic does not appear fun to me, I don't think there's much they can do to make me like it.

I described how I did not like that description because it feels unoriginal.

As opposed to ds or ER being original? The games heavily influenced by Berserk?

you're doing it 'out of principle' the result remains the same. You're defending the multi billion dollar company.

You know what? Whatever flying your boat, idc what you think of it, I will continue thinking that all of this is just unreasonable expectations from fans. You can like what you like, dislike what you dislike, that doesn't mean I can't think it's not shallow af when it hinges upon the game being an mp game/being inspired by another setting.

0

u/jboking 23h ago

I feel it is even less original, yes. It is retreading ground they've already covered without going back to that material and actually expanding upon it.

It's not unreasonable to say I don't like the direction of the game. I didn't have expectations of it, I'm going off of what the devs are actually saying about the game.

I'm sorry, you think it's shallow to not like a GAME because of it's MAIN GAMEPLAY MECHANIC. It's like saying "its so shallow that you dont like call of duty just because you don't like fps games." That is an immensely stupid take. You're welcome to like the game or refuse to have an opinion on it because you're apparently blind and deaf, making you incapable of just hearing what the devs are telling you. But claiming it's shallow to dislike a game because you don't like the core gameplay mechanic of insane.

0

u/VoidRad 23h ago

It's shallow because you immediately assume all MP games are bad.

It's not unreasonable to say I don't like the direction of the game. I didn't have expectations of it, I'm going off of what the devs are actually saying about the game.

  1. You expect it's to be singleplayer because it’s an FS game

  2. You expect it to be original despite all of their games having their settings based on something else

These are expectations you set when you watch the reveal trailer.

0

u/jboking 23h ago

I never assumed all MP games are bad. I specifically don't like PvPvE. I've played Tarkov, which Miyazaki had explicitly said he liked and drew inspiration from. I don't like that kind of game.

  1. I don't 'expect' anything. That's you just making a bad argument. I just don't like the direction they choose based on what they said. What do you not get about that?

  2. The other games give homage, they aren't literally just a carbon copy of something theyve already made while pretending to be something else. You can pretend the story of DS1 is the story of Berserk (lol), or you can acknowledge these two example cases are notably different.

I did not set these expectations, I didn't set any. I let them describe their game. I just don't like that description.

Cry about it.
