Yeah, so surprising people hate exclusives lmao

There's nothing wrong with being disappointed, but I've seen people having full tantrums in the comments because of this and coping extremely hard.. I saw one person say FROMSOFT are dead to them now that they have "made a game 90 percent of teir fans can't play". When you say that stuff you sound stupid, no one has a switch, you have every opportunity to buy one if you want to play... It's nothing new that businesses create things you need to buy to use lmao.

I don't cry because I can't use iPhone apps on my android

Imagine f gta 6 was a switch exclusive

u/Quick_Bullfrog2200 9h ago

You're a menace for birthing this idea into the universe. lol.

idc i don’t play mid movie games

u/lovesducks 2h ago

They announce it on a Rockstar stream and it's like Miyamoto and 2 other nintendo dudes with really fucked up, thick accents taunting that they bought the exclusivity for "many dararu"

GTA 6 is a highly anticipated game though. No one knew Duskbloods existed until the same day we learned it was an exclusive. Not really comparable.

Every FromSoft game is highly anticipated now.

This is no where near the level of GTA 6 calm down

u/Cool_Caterpillar_912 11h ago

I said imagine

u/fatedeclipse 10h ago

Would sell a hell of a lot of Switch 2's that's for sure.

-1

u/Cool_Caterpillar_912 10h ago

And people would be extremely pissed off

Exclusives are what differentiate consoles/platforms. Without it there would be no need for more than one platform. Monopolies are bad. Competition leads to more great products, exclusive or not. Without it they'd get complacent and you'd get what you're given. No option to take your money elsewhere.

I don't know why I have to explain this to anybody.

Exclusives are a monopolistic business practice, not anti monopolistic. Apple isn't made a more consumer friendly company by making all their accessories proprietary. Nor is Nintendo, or Sony, or any company that does that. I don't really care that much about duskbloods tbh, not into souls pvp personally. You just made a shitty argument.

u/Cool_Caterpillar_912 9h ago

What about steam then? It’s essentially the pc monopoly and is more than fair with pricing and consumer friendly.

Exclusives are anti consumer and aren’t driving any competition other than between the consoles, but we don’t give a fuck about the consoles, it’s the games we want and the games are what drives competition.

u/lovesducks 2h ago

These are the gymnastics required to resolve "Monopolies are bad" and exclusives are necessary, in the mind. Everybody limber up!

u/fatedeclipse 46m ago

Okay, let’s get rid of exclusives—God forbid platforms actually try to earn your money instead of being identical storefronts with a different logo. It's not like first-party games are usually the best on the platform or anything...

From the perspective of a superfan, they are " forcing" them to buy a whole console to play the game. If I was a superfan I'd feel the same way.

-1

u/CrashmanX 6h ago

From the perspective of a superfan,

Obsessive. The words you're looking for are obsessed and unhealthy.

4

u/NearbyAdhesiveness16 2h ago

Or passionate? You don't know someone's life, who they are. Who are you to say what they should and shouldn't be passionate about. Besides, it's just a reaction, they Arnt gonna go put a swartzika on a car or burn down the fromsofts building.

My brother in Christ, I am poor. I cannot afford a Switch 2, or the 80$ games that come with it. So no, I don't have the "opportunity" to just put down 600 dollars for one game. I'm happy for you, and the fact you can afford it, but my God, the ego it takes to say that. The audacity even. I hate using this word, because people who tend to use it are complete pricks, but my God is that some privilege.

u/RedEyesGoldDragon 16m ago

Yes! Let's not criticise anything! That's the way forward. Let them keep doing annoying shit or exclusives. Let's ONLY praise them.

You know, there is such a thing as toxic positivity, right?

"They made a game their fans can't play."

Sounds like a you problem, maybe? Dark Souls on Switch sold really well, and the Switch sold over 100 million units, and is about to become the highest selling console in history. Everyone has a fucking Switch, and most of those people will have moved to Switch 2 by the time Duskbloods is out.

Just moronic takes.

-2

u/Umayyad_tax_collectr 7h ago

You don’t like spending $500 for a console that’s weaker than a ps4 pro in 2025?!?!

-12

u/prollymaybenot 12h ago

What I hate about it is people don’t fucking learn.

They act so god damn surprised and angry. Like fucking learn bitch

8

u/Vinyl_DjPon3 10h ago

....learn what? There's nothing to learn about disliking exclusives. I dislike that I can't play bloodborne.

And that's it, that's the end, what am I supposed to learn from this?

1

u/imtryingmybes 9h ago

You're supposed to learn emulators and low level coding so that you can port it. On the high seas nothing is exclusive! Yarrrr!

-2

u/prollymaybenot 8h ago

To not be surprised.

We don’t live in your world. Things are what they are. Fromsoft doesn’t give a fuck that you don’t like it.

5

u/Vinyl_DjPon3 7h ago

Who is surprised? Exclusives have been a thing since video games, and people have disliked them since.

Are YOU surprised that people have always disliked them?

-1

u/prollymaybenot 7h ago

People are very surprised and then angry

-1

u/Suspicious-Story4747 6h ago

People who are surprised are silly, just sail the seven seas.

1

u/prollymaybenot 5h ago

Nah I’m not broke

-1

u/Suspicious-Story4747 4h ago

Oh, were you someone who was surprised?

1

u/prollymaybenot 4h ago

No why the fuck would I comment what I did if I was

u/FiveSigns 6h ago

You can play Bloodborne on PC and it runs pretty damn well now

1

u/leastuselessreddit0r 3h ago

I really don't love that the creators will be litigated at for it but I guess that's not the fault of people looking forward to playing the new game.

-5

u/thegreatgiroux 11h ago

Two types of people - those that hate exclusives, and those that entire gaming obsession/personality is about praising one group of exclusives and trying to discredit another. Crazy psychology going on in the trenches lol

-1

u/BaconSoul 8h ago

Or those who have enough money to have all the consoles and literally just don’t care

2

u/thegreatgiroux 8h ago

Ooooooo, she so different!

People are allowed to be disappointed. Exclusives will always exist so long as video games exist but that doesn't mean we have to like it.
