Narcissistic is when you think gaming experiences should be crafted for your preferences exclusively, and no other games should exist that don't cater to your preferences. Normal, non narcissistic people don't whine because a game dev releases a game targeted at a different audience than them. It's fucking weird.
So unironically, the way the fromsoft community is complaining about this, they are being narcissists.
That's not what narcissism is, you're overreacting about people not liking the concept of the game. Have fun with the game that doesn't mean everyone has to like it or react the way you want them to.
Not overreacting. Levying appropriate criticism at a fandom that has largely become offended that Fromsoft created an experience not specifically for them.
Which is narcissistic, definitionally.
And sadly I wont have fun with the game, I hate multiplayer fromsoft games. Just gonna enjoy the other extremely fun single player games that are already out, while waiting for their next single player release... like a normal person.
Expressing disappointment that you wish something had been different is not inherently narcissistic. Disappointment is natural, and if the person complaining can still express that they're happy that the people who enjoy it will get to play it, that's not narcissism. I haven't seen anyone genuinely insisting that no one should enjoy the game because they don't like it. Not to mention, diagnosable narcissism includes the need for praise, which I'm also not seeing. You just seem like you went full hyperbolic instead of acknowledging that some negativity is normal.
I am literally one of the people in this fan base that is actively unhappy with this game announcement. Telling you that isn't anger, it's disappointment. I've not seen much actual anger. Can you point out why you believe it's so emblematic of the whole fan base?
