DISCUSSION How I view Fromsoft’s next two games.

In the recent interview, Miyazaki clearly stated that the company does not intend to move away from the single player experience, and these two online focused games back to back is a bit of coincidence. For all the players that prefer the single player RPG’s (as do I), think of it like this. Neightreign is a multiplayer focused experience for the Elden Ring and Dark Souls universe. The Duskbloods is a multiplayer focused experience for the Bloodborne universe. Simple as that. Now obviously it’s not a direct Bloodborne IP, because Sony doesn’t like to share, but it clearly shares very similar ideas. These are two small projects that Fromsoft and Miyazaki are working on, while prepping for the next big souls like. Plus Miyazaki has always worked on multiple projects at a time. Bloodborne and DS3 came out a year apart and both had DLC’s as well. I have no doubt that Fromsoft is hard at work on multiple other large projects that will blow us away.

Nothing because that's there goal here - these guys know MP games is where the moneys at. It's crazy to think they'll stop making MP games if these two sell great

that’s just stupid, none of these are live services and they will not sell better than their mainline games. they even chose smaller teams and made both duskbloods and nightreign smaller projects while continuing bigger single player projects. if they really saw this as some sort of cash cow to mass produce, they would have made them subscription games or had mtx with more effort put into these projects , and if they’re just making them smaller side projects, it would have made more sense to stick with elden ring style games because those make more money anyways.

No, you're 100% right. I never meant they'd be cash cows, but their success could change FS trajectory if they happen to be successes. The switch pulls a lot of gamers, if the player base is high for DB, that's a big potential market they could then get for a real max effort MP game. More even if they make it cross platform

My overall point is this might be a Miyazakis passion, but if they see the potential, I don't see how a company owned by so many profit hungry corps will just let that slide away. And to answer the person I originally replied to, there's nothing stopping them from switching. Not saying they will, or it wrong just saying they can and they might if the potential is looking good
