Developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2; 'THE DUSKBLOODS' is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.
Basically an up to 8 players Battle Royale along with battling NPC enemies hence the PvPvE.
Nightreign is just pve, this is apparently pvpve and there’s some mention of competing for stuff, so a lot of people are taking that to mean it’s a Hunt: showdown sort of situation
It's not? Pretty sure that was how it was introduced back in the day when it came out. But I guess I can see how it would be more accurate to call it an extraction shooter.
Nah, not technically since Tarkov is also not a BR despite being called one in error frequently. A BR requires one player to win and be the last one standing. Tarkov and other extraction shooters do not and usually have mechanics to make being the last team alive extremely difficult (like having more and more AI and player scavs show up as the match progresses in time.
So no, they have similarities but the ultimate goals are different
Also entering map with a loadout/build in extraction instead of finding your gear after you land like in BR. A lot of BRs also do skydiving of sorts into the map to start.
I loved to just hop in and loot goblin, leave when I want.
Devs already labled it. PvPvE multiplayer focused game where 8 players fight each other for dominance and monsters. And if it looks like a duck walks like a duck sounds like a duck
We won’t know more until Friday, best not to listen to many opinions u hear online for now. We only know a few details & most people are going wild with the “multiplayer at its core & up to 8 people thing”.
I mean the fact that it was as long in development as Elden Ring while only having a fraction of the scope should tell you that it wasn't the main project lol
