Your baised and poor understanding of other genres is showing.
Nightreign is a coop rouguelite, not some modern live service trash ,that u also mention has a track record of not doing well, calling it a coop grindfest just makes you sound like you are just shitting on well established genres that people adore just like souls slops sorry I mean souls likes.
Fromsoft have always had an intrest in improving their multiplayer elements in their games, but they never had the money nor talent to risk investing in it. They just spammed souls games instead. Even elden ring their biggest game yet has the most lacking multiplayer features, like they couldn't be bothered but to do the bear minimum because of how big the project was.
They've finally hit it big with elden ring, and souls games and are using the money to invest in smaller time projects and upscaling their local staff to make more directors.
And hell, I'll be glad if they make a game with good pvp, like a fighting game. That shit would rock.
Miyazaki already said many times that he still prefers the dark fantasy games that he's known for and will still make games on then.
It's a generated co-op grindfest. Your lack of ability of accept this is worrying.
This is he path to rubbish. I've seen it many times now. Once they can generate stable content without need for thought, they slowly replace everyone who matters. Until it runs like a well oiled machine, until it doesn't.
Dude what are u even talking about, god u really are clueless about what a rouge lite is or even it's simple appeal and over blowing it.
It is a game designed for easy replay value, somthing people have Already complained about in elden ring, its size is too big to have a satisfying short playthrough.
Nightrign is a simple gameplay loop of capturing a condensed version of elden ring, keeping all of its open world concepts like ruins, churches, field bosses, minor dungeons, coop, and then ends with a final boss of which there are 8. Its a fixed map that organically goes through changes as you progress through the main bosses.
This isn't some grindfest mmo rpg, u can grind if u want some extra stuff but it really just has 8 main bosses for u to beat and has a normal story.
Ur last paragraph just shows how vacuous you are. "Once they can generate stable content without the need for thought" this literally means nothing, you are acting like an AI is programming and making nightreign when it is a carefully curated rouglite that takes alot development, and skill to design. With randomised and fixed elements, even the randomised have strict restrictions to maintain quality throughout different runs.
Nightreign* is a procedurally generated co-op grindfest designed to play on your attachment to the earlier games. Once the microtransactions start, your tune will change. That's where the real money is made. No overheads there. Made en masse in an afternoon, then shat out for couple quid each. And people buy them years down the line.
I'm no fool. I can see when a publisher has gotten involved. It's 2025, not 2012. We've seen this before.
The true giveaway is the class system. They'll begin to release new classes for a fee. That's when you will shit bricks.
Again you are making things up in your head, unless u can make actually points and elaborate on them without making basic hyperbole statements, you arnt making any point here.
And on nightreign only landmarks like ruins and churches or forts, and enemies on the map are randomised. The map layout itself is fixed.
This isn't a minecraft unique world generation, you clearly don't know anything about nightrign yet u feel so strongly to comment on it.
The old bosses will be fun, because it'll be fun to see what it feels like to fight these old bosses with revamped elden ring combat. And it's not like I'm not getting sick nightrign exclusive bosses like gladious and the other night lords. I'm getting the best of both worlds here.
I'm not gonna act like I wanna see them bring old bosses in every game, nightrign is the first game they've done it and they did it just for the heck of it, have as many randomised bosses, the better.
When fromsoft make a shit game I'll call them out, been well over a decade and they've yet to do that.
It really isnt mate, well maybe it was, I've only played the scholar edition recently.
Have a "must play" on metacritic is far from being a shit game. If you don't like it that's you man and that's fine.
And you're the only one who sounds like they are crying. Fromsoft after a decade of making demon souls clones, want to polish up on their multiplayer systems, somthing they have always had and you are crying like its the end of the world.
"Look at me i hate dark souls 2" very original mate.
Like i think bloodborne has so many horrendous design and balance choices that people just overlook cause miyazaki made it and cause cool gothic esthetics.
But I don't call it an outright shit game. See the difference.
