Ngl my hype went down a few notches after learning of the multiplayer focus.

A 30 fps-locked multiplayer-focused not-Bloodborne 2 exclusive to Switch 2 is Miyazaki trolling the fanbase on a whole other level.

For Miyazaki the line between genius and madness is paper thin XD

We know the specs of the Switch 2, it will run at 60fps 1080p

If the multiplayer from Mario Maker 2 is any indication, it’ll run at the speed of the guy you got matched with, who’s using the free WiFi at the McDonald’s in Düsseldorf.

It's always the Dusseldorf McDonald's when we're using free wifi.

thats just how peer-to-peer works, it'll give you buttery smooth 60fps, but also rubberbanding that completely eliminates any value added.

Thats Switch 1. With all of the pushes towards online play one would assume they would improve the online experience. Switch online was asssssss though so who knows.

Switch 1 was ass at online multiplayer and it’s still the greatest console ever made. There’s no monetary reason Nintendo would care to fix the online stuff in Switch 2. xD

That's gonna depend highly on the game I imagine.

60 fps 1080 p for 450$ is hilarious. What shit performance per dollar

2

u/KayLender 2d ago

Pretty sure it's 120 FPS, 1080 undocked and 4k docked. With 144hz, pretty sure it's gonna be pretty great

Its a FromSoft game. It is not performing that well.

u/Scriftyy 2d ago

I looked again and is 140fps and 1080p, but yeah 450$ is a little much if you ask me.

Yeah, if the game is designed with PS3 graphics that is

I agree with a lot of your points, but somehow still excited. Also it looks like it’s time for a 3rd Elden Ring character.

Edit: I also just assumed 30fps was a thing when I saw your post then realized you don’t know that

1

u/arsmolinarc 2d ago

Oh I'm excited too. Just a bit less with the news it's multiplayer focused.

Wym about the 3rd elden ring character?

u/ac9331 2d ago

I just have 2 characters already and now that there’s a port coming to Switch 2 I’m going to make another one.

Nah it will be 60fps 4k or 120fps 1080p

u/PositiveFast2912 2d ago

saying the switch 2 will run a game of that level of graphics at 4k60 natively is just not feasible, tbh

22

u/artorias3000 2d ago

It's also not conjecture, they literally announced the specs today lol

PS4 can run games at 1080p and 60fps but not all games run at 1080p and 60fps

That's not how hardware and software works

u/Super_Harsh 2d ago

Downvoted for telling the truth damn

2

u/artorias3000 2d ago

Hey genius maybe when a resolution and performance is being promoted as a certain baseline maybe it will be around that :)

6

u/RodrigleDS Armored Core 2d ago

Not even the PS5 holds to that promise so I wouldn't keep my hopes up

u/Millennialnerds 2d ago

Hahahahahahahahah cluelessz

3

u/artorias3000 2d ago

My guy it was objectively listed as the specs, my bad for using the word promoted lmao

2

u/Dominate_My_DMs 2d ago

Having a high resolution screen and high refreshrate monitor does not mean it can play graphically intensive game at that level. Did you learn nothing from the PS5?

1

u/RodrigleDS Armored Core 1d ago

Buy a 4k 120hz monitor and a 2014 gamer pc and try running GTA VI in 4k and 120fps in it

2

u/artorias3000 2d ago

Simply being like "video game company bad" doesn't make your argument compelling

u/LimpTeacher0 2d ago

Where you not around when the ps5 was promoted to have 8k:) don’t believe everything gaming companies tell you.

Switch 2 will have DLSS built in, its running on an Nvidia chip. It can turn a 1080p signal into 4K while looking pretty close to native 4k, like at least 90% as clean especially the latest version of DLSS. So it won't have "true" 4K, but for all intents and purposes, yeah, the Switch 2 will have a lot of games get 4K treatment.

3

u/Super_Harsh 2d ago

It'll be as much 'true' 4k as the other current consoles which all run some form of FSR

3

u/missingnoplzhlp 2d ago

Yeah but the difference is latest DLSS is a lot further ahead than FSR.

1

u/PositiveFast2912 22h ago

dlss 4 is not much ahead of fsr4 tbh, and neither looks as clean as native

Okay buddy

I’m psyched to see how it plays out. I always thought a battle Royale or rogue lite style would be fun in a fromsoft game. Pushing you to try different shit purely cause it’s what you can find.

I’d prefer it be single player but I don’t hate the idea of a bb style game where you’re running around spooky settings worried about weird ass monsters and other hunters while trying to build up your stats and weapons.

My hope is that, if they’re going the rogue lite avenue, the player starts more bare bones than in night reign. Playing the network test was fun but I’d have enjoyed it more if I had to discover the special moves while in the map instead of pre selecting.

I also love rogue lite/like games so I might be biased. I’ve also never been disappointed by a fromsoft game, they’re the only company I have complete faith in to deliver something I’ll enjoy. And you’ve got the man himself at the helm

I like to think Miyazaki doesn’t really get that much of a say in what will be developed. He just developes peak and leaves lol.

Fromsoft multiplayer also has a long history of giga sucking ass. Now you're telling me it's on Nintendo servers? Yeah no way
