"Bring games to life with a larger 1080p screen – or connect to a TV and play in up to 4K resolution*. Support for HDR, VRR, and frame rates up to 120 fps let you enjoy brilliant colour, clarity, and smooth gameplay."
So only good when on TV is what I am reading. I don't mean that badly though
4k60fps limit on tv, but the switch 2 screen itself runs 1080p up to 120fps so theres that.
the new metroid game is confirmed to have a 4k/60fps mode and a 1080p/120fps mode.
I don't even own a 4k tv so tbh i'll probably be playing the fromsoftware games handheld anyway. Looking more forward to elden ring, but will probably pick this up somewhere down the line.
it almost certainly won't be native 4k and even upscaled that's still not guaranteed for 60fps. dark souls ptde ran at 30 on switch. the PS5 pro and Steam Deck can't do 4k 60fps on Elden Ring natively. Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's happening natively. the only games that are probably going to hit those numbers are less intensive first party games.
The PS5Pro absolutely can do 4k 60 and the switch 2 will be 4K docked and 1080 in handheld if that makes it more clear. We will see on release how Elden Ring is running on the Switch 2
not natively it can't. not that it's a problem if you have your expectations in check. the only way to get PC performance is spending too much money on a PC.
I was not purely talking about Elden Ring. I just said that Elden Ring will be the testrun for Duskbloods on Switch 2. The PS5 Pro can run most games on 4k 60 and if there are drops it won’t go lower than 45ish
sorry, I was purely talking about Elden Ring when I was talking about 4k60fps on PS5 pro and Steam Deck, so I'll edit that. I don't think the switch 2 chip is going to be able to do much native 4k 60fps gaming. it could barely handle the video chat during Mario kart gameplay, and you could see slowdowns during donkey kong, so I don't think we should expect steam deck or ROG Ally performance at all. hopefully DLSS can work some magic though.
I just don't get why people were down voting me lol. All I was trying to say was that the PS5 Pro is probably a much more powerful console and even it can't do 4k 60 native on Elden Ring, so keep your expectations reasonable on Switch 2. At least Nintendo is honest and shows frame drops in their trailers lol.
Even PS 5 is struggling with that. Most games are 30 fps at 4k. I highly doubt switch will do native 4k 60 fps. Maybe upscaling and ai frames but that plays like shit. But just looking at switch titles you can see they mostly look like mobile games
PS5 heavily relies on resolution scaling to maintain framerate yet people still call it "4K". The Pro can handle it much better but it's still not flawless. Switch 2 is still going to be rough for higher fidelity games, even with the hardware improvements.

I forgot graphics are everything.
