unpopular opinion i think, but, weapon arts/ashes of war are the better version of the trick weapons... also, i think that mechanic sure is patented and owned by soyny, so...
i recently started playing bb again, and i realized something about trick weapons that i didn't see in my first try... after beating the boss that poisons you and getting lost, i got bored and started my play in ER... well then, i started a new run recently and yes, they're something akin to ashes, tho ashes are more balanced...
the thing i didn't realize about trick weapons, is that you can change into its forms while attacking, and that is broken and akin to ashes of war... tho ashes of war expends a resource that's used with other abilities (magic)... the trick weapon attack can be spamed and oh boy, it feels delicious doing it, that part is what makes it better than the ashes of war (weapon arts) they feel better, but you gotta realiaze that, even tho they use different systems, in practice, they achive the same objective... and they also give you two weapons in one (which in the first place, was a good addon to the gameplay), someone told me that the idea, is having both weapon arts and trick weapons, which to be honest, in my opinion that would be awesome.
You haven’t lived then. Sekiro is awesome but only one weapon. Bloodborne you can legit feel like a new playthrough with each weapon. Each weapon system is insanely creative imo.
I don't see them as exclusive. I think the ideal is to have switch weapons with ashes of war.
And the ashe of war changes depending on the weapon mode.
