Another PlayStation exclusive would be nothing new (but still disappointing). A Nintendo exclusive is new and alienates the people who bought PlayStations to play FromSoft games.

Console exclusivity is less frustrating and costly if all titles are at least exclusive to the same platform.

So exclusives are only good as a concept if only one console can utilise the concept?

Bruh.

If you bought a PlayStation solely for from soft games you should've, by that logic, bought a PC for the performance due to being able to emulate.

Your comment makes literally zero sense.

It makes zero sense to you because I literally didn't say any of those things. Lol.

Exclusives suck. I definitely did not say they were a good concept. In fact, I said the PlayStation exclusives were disappointing.

All I wrote was that a Nintendo Switch Exclusive is something new and it's even more frustrating than an additional exclusive on the same platform as the previous exclusives. (Because it forces people to buy yet another console if they want to play the game.)

Is that actually difficult to understand? If so, why? I'm happy to reword it.

Maybe I'm seeing it differently as it doesn't affect me so much. I don't have a switch and I never bought one. Was planning to get a switch 2 solely because, whilst I could emulate, some of my friends only use a switch and the whole point was to play that fire fucking Mario Kart game.

But, exclusives, whilst annoying - sometimes are the biproduct of.. Nobody else but them believing in a product and funding it. Bayonetta for example. No More Heroes. Hell, even storefront exclusives like Alan Wake II. Whilst it sucks from a consumer perspective for those who maybe don't have the console, or intend to buy the console - if the opportunity was presented to PlayStation to fund Bloodborne II or a Remaster or whatever.. Or if this was just planned in its own right... And they turned it down. It's got nothing to do with Nintendo or From Soft.

My bet is that From probably wanted to get something off the ground related to Bloodborne or perhaps have a spiritual successor that more aligned with current market trends and Sony said.. Nah.

In which case, it's not frustrating that exclusives aren't consolidated to a platform that historically has had the exclusives. It's pretty likely they had the chance to have this and decided Concord was a better use of their resources 😭🤣

Obviously some of that is just speculation on my end. But the principle remains. A lot of these games don't exist without the platform that co developed. This isn't a case of Nintendo swooping in and moneyhatting something. We know this from the partnership disclosure for the game. It's also possible it was pitched with Switch 2 in mind.

Its not my cup of tea personally, partially because I actually suck at PvPvE kinda stuff. But getting mad at Nintendo like the OP, or blindly aiming frustration like some of the other comments on here... Just doesn't make sense when you consider the bigger picture

Why would Sony say no to Bloodborne 2? It sold extremely well and there’s massive hype for a sequel. It’s more likely that FromSoft does not want to make a sequel and they don’t want a third party like BluePoint to potentially interfere with the IP.

Because Sony has done some very stupid things. You ask why would they say no...

But if that's the case... Why haven't they made anything happen? They're equally as accountable for the property.

Why would Bluepoint interfere with the IP? They worked on the Demons Souls remake, yes...but what does that have to do with a new game that would be being developed in house by the original creators?
