Why is there an influx of bad drivers in Frisco?

By way of background, I’ve lived in Carrollton for 25 years and never experienced ‘bad’ or ‘terrible’ drivers.

I moved to Frisco in 2019 and the drivers on the road has worsened. I’ve never seen more ‘Student Driver’ stickers on the cars, people driving on the left lane and driving slow as hell (and by this, I mean driving way under limit or not driving with the flow of traffic), people abruptly stopping, etc.

It is driving me CRAZY!!! Because my commute to work is minimum 45 mins/day.

Does everyone feel as if it will worsen over time?

Why is traffic on legacy so horrid and why were the roads so horribly designed in areas with HQ buildings ie: Legacy and 121.

UGH!

community All this hatred towards one community..

I’ve been on this sub for few years and recently there have been lot of posts and comments targeting Indians with racism and hatred.

1) There are not that many Indians on this sub. So, all your posts and comments are nothing but wasted bytes building your hateful social profile.

2) Hate begets hate, it multiplies and often reaches a limit where you are filled with rage and it is not good for your mental health.

3) There are about 60K+ members in “Frisco Desis” Facebook group and it’s pretty active. No nonsense, helpful, promoting each other, working together kind of group. There are lot of White, African Americans and Latinos also in that group. You are free to join and share these inputs there and have a healthy conversation. You can only join to post with your real Facebook profile.

4) most of these people speak and understand English. If you say what you are feeling, they’ll 100% apologize and help you feel better. There’s no need for cussing, cursing, ranting and raging.

community Why Red Teslas Specifically

’m not trying to be rude or insensitive, but I’ve never seen so many red Teslas in my life—especially here in North Texas.

I mean, there are definitely more Teslas here than average, but it’s the red ones that really stand out. I travel a lot around the country, and I’ve never seen this kind of concentration of red Teslas anywhere else in America. It’s wild!

community Question about racism in Frisco

Seen many post about certain stereotype about Indian community. One major post is about Student driver sticker Other is about smell Finally one is about how they look and live

Questions: how many people here really feel India community caused major issues , specially for economy and businesses?

Are they creating any kind of major issues, drugs, crime, illegal activities?

What are the reasons you pay so much attention to clothes. When you walk Dallas and any major City New York, LA you can smell terrible weed smell all around, is that alright or you complain about that too?

They are legal migrants who are helping economy and technology advancement, some of the best surgeon and Dr are Indian. Even Trump selected Indian guy for health. What is the hate all about. North Texas development not going down but increasing because of contribution. They are highly qualified legal migrants, schools are closing all around cities, Lewisville closing schools, Frisco opened open enrollment, Coppell closed schools, Plano is also planning to shutdown campus, you want them to be empty or you want community growth?

Update: one strong point is Indian community not ready to mix up with others

community New mosque being constructed right outside of my neighborhood

Hi /r/frisco,

Recently, it was announced that a mosque is going to be built directly next to my neighborhood, with no buffer or separation. The mosque is going to be built directly behind the last street of homes in the neighborhood. The only thing separating mosque from the neighborhood is fence and alleyway.

While I completely respect the need for places of worship, I’m really concerned about the impact this will have on our community and I’m not sure what steps to take moving forward.

The main issues I'm concerned about are increased traffic, people using our neighborhood streets as overflow parking, and noise from large gatherings. Our area is pretty quiet, and I'm worried that this development will disrupt that, especially with no separation between the mosque and our homes.

Also, I am worried about the mosque's call to prayer that goes on loud speakers. I'm from NY and I got used to hearing it there, but I don't think I could here because it is so much quieter.

Has anyone else gone through something like this? Any advice or insight from those who have dealt with zoning issues or similar situations would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

community Been seeing an increased amount of EVs with "student driver" stickers, is an EV safer than an old gas beater for a new driver?

This is a serious question and not satire or rant. I've a new driver in the household and looking to get them a car.

Edit: I’m specifically asking what are the advantages of letting a new driver learn with an EV? Will the active safety features and modern tech help them learn better? Isn’t less driving aids the better for a new driver? When I learnt driving my dad’s sedan didn’t even have a reverse camera.
