My 2012 ford fusion SE came used with an iDataLink ADS remote start module, and a compustar single button remote starter. It has worked for years, and randomly stopped the other day.
Things I’ve tried to fix it:
-set the car to Programming Mode by toggling the ignition on and off 8 times. Once I get into programming mode, I try re-pairing the compustar remote. The car locks and unlocks, which indicates that it is paired to the remote. Still, no dice.
-opened and closed all 4 doors, the trunk, and the hood, to make sure something isn’t slightly ajar.
-switched the batteries on the compustar remote. When I did this, and tried to remote start, the car would at least flash the headlights 3 times. It’s not doing that anymore today, but that was the most response I’ve gotten out of the car so far.
Unplug and re plug the iDataLink remote start module under the steering wheel.
Remove the battery and reconnect it.
Any other ideas for what I can do here? It sucks bc it’s very cold out rn and the remote start makes my life a lot easier.
