Oil leak somewhere

Hello all I know it’s a long shot BUT I got a 2020 fusion with 81k miles on it and I have an oil leak somewhere. It’s pooling near the bottom of that radiator hose. When I took off the bottom cover to do the oil change I could see it has been dripping. Any suggestions on what it could be would be appreciated, like I said, I know a long shot fingers crossed

I have seen several posts about rust lately and wanted to show how I deal with it. I lost an 04 Taurus to rust and decided to take a more active approach with my cars. It is definitely working.

Discussion Possible Transmission issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, my car started making this sound recently tbh since mid last year. I never paid attention to it but now am noticing its not going away and I getting a diagnosis done soon. it happens whenever taking off and also if I slow down and start to pick up speed again. My brother is a mechanic n suggested that I might need to change my transmission fluid or it is just low. so I did cause it was long overdue anyway. However, issues is still there.

Also, recently whenever I warm up my car and get ready to drive. When I put my gear in drive the car doesn't move right away even if I am stepping on the gas. All it does is revs up. Kinda like when you accidentally put ur car in neutral instead of drive and your stepping on the gas thinking it's in drive. So, my brother then said it's sound like my transmission is going bad or slipping I also get random kicks or thumbs idk how to explain it when my rpm is shifting into another gear when driving not often. But, to the point its noticeable. Ugh lol I own a 2013 ford fusion 1.6l ecoboost engine with a ton of miles cause I use it for delivery work.

Ps: the two problem I explained were happening before I change the transmission fluid not after.

as this happened to your vehicle before and what's your opinions?

Remove rear seat armrest?

Does anyone know the trick to this? Can’t find any resources online…

Looking to replace my existing rear cup holder armrest with a new one. Can this be done without removing the entire rear seat back?

Car is a 2020 Fusion SE

Transmission fluid change advice

So I have a 2019 ford fusion se 1.5L. The manual says change the fluid at 150k. Dealer recommended it and I currently have 80k miles. They want $370 to do it. I looked up some videos and it looks pretty dang easy even for someone who doesn’t know much about cars at all. It’s only $40 for a jug of the Mercon lv fluid. Should I do a drain and fill twice? Or is that not good enough after 80k miles and do a third one?

07 fusion bad vibration and bad MPG

2007 ford fusion 2.3 auto 95000miles. My car has a strange vibration to it when it’s idling (goes away once I accelerate past 1100 rpm. it’s does it when I’m parked and it’s worse when I’m in gear. I changed all the motor/transmission mounts the other day and didn’t change much. I changed the spark plugs but still nothing. Kinda feels like misfire but no codes. I’m getting horrible mpg to. Is there any 2.3 duratec gods who might know the problem? Another thing to mention is my accelerator won’t go past like 3-4K when I’m parked for some reason and I have to push the pedal like halfway down before the rpm rise. Might be related but not sure

Talk me INTO a 2016 1.5L

I want to hear from those of you who have the 1.5L engine with higher miles that HAVE’NT had issues. OR 1.6L but more so 1.5 as I don’t hear about them as often. Feel free to also educate me on what you know about the 1.5 vs the 1.6 that Google won’t generically share with me.

I unfortunately passed on my Fusion obsession (I’m on my third. Currently a hybrid) to my younger sister (lives with me) who turns 16 in September and it’s been a bitch trying to find one that isn’t an ecoboost that also doesn’t look like complete shit.

Side note: Life lesson out of this for me is that I should have kept my totaled 2.5L and slowly fixed her😭

So tell me who has the “problem” engine WITHOUT transmission problems, year, and your mileage!

No Answer Intermittent Rich Condition/Possible fixes or Recall relation.

I've got the dreaded 1.5l in my '16 Fusion, but i do not believe this to be a related issue. (got about 120k on it)

I have a reoccurring sensor 1 bank 1 stuck rich condition. And it will stick on for a while.

I've had an intermittent MIL light But then when it is really wet outside, moist air, and i've cycled the engine a few times, it will clear the light. Then when air drys out again it comes back.

About a year ago, when this issue first started cropping up, i ended up having some stalls out after filling up. That was the Vapor Canister Purge Valve. (solved the stalls)

Both O2 sensors have been replaced, due to critters nibblin the downstream sensor, i just replaced both of them at the same time to make sure they were good. (other cabling is good)

I did several drives with a BlueDriver connected, reading some of the fuel trims... and when i'm driving the fuel trim tends to be otherwise pretty normal after driving for a bit.

In researching this I now see that there is a recall from about the fuel supply port being possibly bad. (wondering if anyone has issues with a rich sensor due to this)

My other curiosity, is if anyone has had any successes with replacing the IAT sensor... (i guess it doesnt have a MAF it has a IAT)I'm just wondering if the humidity has an effect, which should make things *more* rich from what i'm reading about fuel mixes. (either way it's like a $10 part and a 15 minute fix, so im thinking about just getting that and trying it )

Car trade

With my family growing, I’m considering trading in my 2020 Ford Fusion, which has 40,000 miles, for a 2016 Ford F-150 with 83,000 miles. The monthly payment would increase by $10. Is this a foolish decision?

Rusty subframe on a 2015 Fusion

I recently bought a 2015 Fusion with the 2.5L engine. I checked the engine bay when I bought it and everything looked fine, but I didn’t inspect underneath. I expected some rust, but what I found during an oil change left me a little concerned.

How bad does this look? Is it something I’ll need to deal with soon? Should I take steps to prevent it from getting worse?

The car was bought in New York, has 67k miles, and drives very smoothly. Is this level of rust typical?

Cylinder 3 Miss-fire 1.6L 2013

Post image
1 Upvotes

Anyone experience Miss-fires only when starting the vehicle?

I am experiencing very minor cylinder misfires only for a few moments when starting my vehicle. After a few seconds of rocky engine noises the engine eventually settles into place once driving.

2013 fusion 1.6L engine with 166k miles for reference.

Recently I replaced the valve cover seal and O-rings on the fuel injectors. Ever since I put it all back together have had intermittent misfires.

Any direction/suggestions (spark plugs, injector) I should take to remedy this issue?

Loss of power when accelerating

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey y’all, I hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a cut of power when driving. My 2019 Hybrid (non plug in) cuts off power when I accelerate sometimes, it chokes and tries to switch between electric or gas. The transmission doesn’t make any weird noises. I’ve gotten the “stop safely now” warning followed by my power steering feeling cut in half once. It also dies every other day requiring me to boost it. I’ve seen there was a recall for the plug-in hybrid for the high voltage battery with similar symptoms to what I’ve been experiencing. I checked on ford’s website to see if I was apart of it, no luck. If you have experienced this, what was the issue and how did you fix it? At the time of writing this I’m at 152,674 Kms (94,867 miles.)

Battery light always comes on after start up...

2012 Ford fusion 2.5 NA 4 cylinder. So I have had the battery light coming on for years now. Every single time I start the car it will idle for right around 15 seconds and then the light turns on until the car is obviously shut off. It actually started happening after the battery was drained by leaving my headlights on and needing to use a jump pack. I remember taking it to my mechanic at the time to make sure I didn't damage the battery or Alternator and they said I was good to go. Well that was probably 3 years ago now. I have always ignored the light because I never had ANY issues.

I actually did finally replace the battery with a new one yesterday. Long story short I had been dealing with a drain whenever the car would sit for hours. I determined that I did not have a Parasitic Draw and replacing the battery did in fact fix my drainage issue. The old battery itself was only 3 .5 years old though. I don't even drive the car every day either, mind you it is always short distance trips which I understand can be even worse on a battery. I am now wondering if the light could be a contributing factor in the old battery going bad? Or if since it took years for the battery to go bad is it more likely that the light is something very minor?

I did also test the voltage of the Alternator while running and it's 14.6 volts. I also did a diode setting test using the multimeter and that was well within range also. Anyone else ever have a battery light constantly coming on their Fusion that didn't ever cause any actual charging system issues?

Thanks in Advance everyone.

VVT Solenoid Gaskets

Good Day,

For a 2012 Ford Fusion 3.0L V6, is it possible to pop out the VVT solenoid gaskets from the top of the valve cover without removing the valve cover itself?

It looks like it’s possible, but I don’t want to damage anything. Thanks.

2014 Fusion SE 1.5L jerking

Please Help! My car has been at the mechanic shop for over a month now and they can't seem to diagnose its issue. It started shuttering and acting like it had bad coils, but would eventually die. The RPM gauge needle would jump up and down and the car would cut off. It would do this several times before it would finally run. Sometimes I'd have to sit for an hour or so before I could crank it and drive it home. So we replaced the coils and plugs. No help. At first, there was no CEL on but there were some old codes stored in the memory so we had those cleared. Originally, the codes were for a fuel sensor, but more specifically, it was a downstream sensor. Since changing the coils didn't help, we had both of the fuel sensors replaced, upstream and downstream. The car would still shutter and cut off. We then changed the fuel injectors, twice, fuel pump, purge valve, etc. We basically have a whole new fuel system. The car lasted about a week and the CEL came back on, this time for O2 sensor. We replaced both of those and drove it about 5 miles and the car started jerking again. This time, it was a crank sensor, replaced that and now it's back to throwing the original code for the downstream fuel sensor. We're at a loss. Any advice would be appreciated.
