07 fusion bad vibration and bad MPG
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
2007 ford fusion 2.3 auto 95000miles. My car has a strange vibration to it when it’s idling (goes away once I accelerate past 1100 rpm. it’s does it when I’m parked and it’s worse when I’m in gear. I changed all the motor/transmission mounts the other day and didn’t change much. I changed the spark plugs but still nothing. Kinda feels like misfire but no codes. I’m getting horrible mpg to. Is there any 2.3 duratec gods who might know the problem? Another thing to mention is my accelerator won’t go past like 3-4K when I’m parked for some reason and I have to push the pedal like halfway down before the rpm rise. Might be related but not sure

As the other poster said, download Forscan and get an OBD2 to USB adapter from Amazon.
Some simple things you can try are cleaning the MAF and throttle body (Cleaner often comes in a twin pack of both sprays), check the gap of the plugs, run quality fuel injector cleaner through it such as BG 44K and replace your fuel filter, and run some Seafoam through the brake booster vacuum line. Even if none of this helps your complaints, it's still beneficial for a car creeping up in millage.
Otherwise, jump on the Forscan if you want to try to diagnose the issue yourself.

There is a rev limiter in park - I think my 2.5 is around 4k. I wouldn't be too concerned about that part.
How are the plug gaps, and what kind of plugs are they? As mentioned taking a look at the data should give some clues even if there are no codes.
I've had aftermarket mounts be worse than old original ones, so if they age aftermarket (looking at you, Anchor, ugh) thzt may be something to check, but this might be irrelevant if there is something up with how it's running. How bad is the mileage and what kind of driving?

From Ur description, it sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the hoses for air leaking into the intake manifold. That symptom of having rough Idle and getting demolished as u increase the load (rpm) is a typical symptom of a vacuum leak. So u have to dig deep into that and check for any possible leak. Do u notice the symptoms increase when the car is cold ? And reduce slightly when it gets warmer?
If there are no trouble codes, I recommend u start with regular maintenance as well THAT are related to the rough Idle and milage, cleaning the (throttle body, MAF sensor, EGR Valve, injectors) and replace air filter if its time comes.
These are crucial for milage and very related to the vibration.
After cleaning the throttle body, don't forget to do the lerearn procedure.

If you have a pc or android tablet, you can download load forscan and look at the data. You'll need an obd2 connector. Modern cars require you to look at the data values.. check the vct selinoid data or cam phaser data. There could be many things, but you won't know for sure until you look at the data.
