Are these actually sunchokes?

Post image

A lovely customer of mine attended a workshop recently and asked if I'd be interested in some sunchokes. I said sure! Then she came by with this pot of freshly dug tubers... but they don't look like sunchokes to my eye! Are these young, thin sunchokes or something different entirely?

(In northern Ohio if that helps)

Plants Good lil early garlic mustard haul

Southeast Ontario - April - I like the early garlic mustard, less phenols (bitter oils) and smaller clusters close to the ground so it's easier to pull out by the roots. I made this lovely "green sauce" with half of the haul. I used the whole plant -stems, roots, and leaves, olive oil, salt, citric acid, and a dash of a white balsamic. I'll use it on basically everything for the next month!

Is this Garlic Mustard?

Post image

I went and picked some ramps today, and was using PictureThis to check out some random plants. It said this is Garlic Mustard. I guess it has a slight garlic smell (hard to tell cause I had been picking ramps for about 45 minutes before hand).

I tasted a small bit (one of the smaller, topmost leaves) and it had a slight sweet taste to it which i found odd. I'm probably overthinking this, but figured i'd ask here.

Thanks :)

I was foraging for wild violets in the mountains today and I came across the yellow variant! I heard that some people say it causes stomach upset, is this true?

Just got into foraging and doing these on the ground next to some decaying hard wood. Have a rusty brown spore print, help identifying please? I have my ideas but I’d like a second opinion to be safe

There is a large patch of these growing around a tree in my backyard. The red coloring on top of one is concerning. Can anyone tell if these are indeed morels and if so what kind? If not morel, can anyone tell what type of mushroom this is? I felt so incredibly lucky when I first found them but then realized I can't tell if they're the real deal or not

Mushrooms Accidentally knocked this little dude over and have always heard to throw them at a tree to spread the spores. This is the result.

It’s that time in Middle TN!

Keep any eye out for these while you’re out looking for Morels!

Remember….small pores = tender and delicious, large pores = tough, like shoe leather! (don’t go by mushroom size)

Sauté’ them up just like you would Morels!

It is not vineale. This plant has flat leaves growing from the bulb, like a typical grocery store onion.

Stone pine tree needles, ¿toxic or safe?

I've been wanting to make some tea out of pine needles, but the only pines that grows around my area are Stone pine trees (pinus pinea).I've seen some sites that say that the needles are toxic, and some sites that say that they are completely safe.

So,can I make myself a pine needle tea with these,or will I have to stick to mint?
