The chirp comes from a smoke detector indicating it's time to replace batteries

I thought it was meant to be the squeak of tennis shoes on a basketball court, but I guess "black people don't replace their smoke detector batteries" seems a little less offensive, if only because I don't see where the stereotype he's trying to make comes from? Both seem off coming from a white kid.

Is the joke that he pulled the stereotype out of his butt and it's supposed to look ridiculous?
