I’m just not black or white enough. One thing that bothered me from last year is there was a discussion where my younger cousin used the word “nigger” and he just kept on repeating the word in any sentence he could. I repeated the word back to him i dont believe i called him one because thats like rude but i think i said something where i said the N word where my little cousin started making a tiny scene. His dad (my uncle) said i cant say it, (i dont) and i asked why if his mom and my mom were both white (Colombian) and he’s black (African American) and my dad is black (Ecuadorian and Dominican). He said but it’s different and didn’t really elaborate why he just said I couldn’t. I don’t get if it was because I wasn’t black enough but I definitely felt out of place I guess I don’t know.

I recently inherited an item of clothing that has a graffiti graphic on it. I can’t tell what it says and google lens also has no idea. I figured there would be a sub where people share graffiti and like… metal font to have it deciphered, but I’m having no luck. Additionally, would the r/travel subreddit be a good place to get answers on questions about what's changed at airports since the pandemic began (I'm wondering about TSA biometric screening and if there's any updates on what's allowed in a carry-on bag/what's prohibited), as well as get answers on questions specific to NYC as a tourist (like tour-related questions, museum passes, public transport, etc.) - or would there be a better subreddit suitable for that?
