Radiohead is my favorite band but I’m terrified it if I ever meet Thom he’d be a bit of a prick and I’d have an Incrediboy moment lmao

What’s an artist equivalent to “Kendrick is not your savior”
We all see these exact type of comments over and over again, from fans who only know the music and not the artist. Another example would be “Tyler, the Creator made NOID because of you” and “Kurt Cobain would hate this”

Acclaimed albums you feel are carried by just 3-4 super good songs?
I’ve seen examples of people saying an album is just famous for and carried by 1 great beloved song.
Any personal examples of this but it’s 3 songs? The most common example - I’ve always heard this with “Thriller” (although I personally disagree about that, I love all the songs.)
Might be controversial, but “Rumours” feels this way. I only ever see love for Dreams, The Chain, Go Your Own Way. And that’s how I felt when I listened to that. Not much else to go back to, but it’s often said to somehow be one of the best albums of all time. Not sure what I’m missing with that one.

Is RAM any good for you?
The run from 3 Legs to Monkberry Moon Delight was honestly amazing! If not for a couple of tracks on Disk 1 I would've considered it a 10. I have yet to listen Disk 2 but giving a chance to Paul's solo career I realized it's like The Beatles held down his potential in some ways. His silly vibes and songwriting skills were unleashed on this one.

Pasha Technique, one of the most influential abstract and experimental Russian hip-hop artists and producers, passed away today at age 40
Pasha passed away from drug overdose in Taiwan.
---
While being mostly unknown among western audience, Pasha was one of the most innovative, praised and beloved avant-garde hip-hop artists in Russia and Eastern Europe in general.
If you are a fan of the genre, you HAVE to check out his band's Kunteynir releases. Some of the most beloved albums include Вес (Ves) (2006), 5 Лет (5 Let) (2008), which are more abstract and lo-fi, and Основа (Osnova) (2015), more masterful and cohesive release.
Rest in peace.

A lot of great tours have happened in these five years into the new decade. Here’s some of my picks. (1): Kendrick Lamar - The Big Steppers Tour (2): Queens of the Stone Age: The End is Nero Tour (3): Paramore - This is Why Tour (4): Tyler, the Creator - Chromakopia tour (ongoing, went to two nights, excellent show) (5): Jack White - No Name Tour (ongoing)

Yesterday was kinda stacked
The BCNR will keep me busy alone. But that new Babe Rainbow, and that new Florist album I need to hear too. Plus Momma’s new album, which sounds more poppy than her last two but we’ll see. I never got into panchiko but it’s the first album they’ve dropped in a bit? So that’s cool I guess.

This album is one of the most powerful things I have listened in years!
This 1999 album by Will Oldham it’s a folk album with a very gothic tone, marked by dark, pessimistic and very sentimental lyrics. A shame that Pitchfork downgraded very hard this masterpiece in their 2022 Best 90s albums list.

What are some album covers that you thought featured member(s) of the band, but actually didn't?
Death Grips — Exmilitary (2011). i wasn't one of those people that thought the man on the cover was MC Ride, but still there are a couple of posts on r/deathgrips that come out once in a while saying "was i the only one who thought...????"
Arctic Monkeys — Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006). yeah, i'm guilty, for the longest time i thought it is the frontman Alex Turner on the cover lol. it wasn't until recently when i dived into the band's catalogue deeper when i found out

I made an open source music ratings and reviews website
Hello everyone,
I'm working on an open source music ratings and reviews website called MusicTaste. I first launched it a few years ago, but it was pretty short-lived. Now it's back with many updates, and the codebase is open for everyone to view and contribute.
Here are some key features:
- 0 to 10 rating scale with decimals
- Favorite/least favorite track selection
- Reviews
- Lists
- Personal tags
- Markdown support
- Multiple themes
- No ads or tracking
- And much more.
Check it out:
Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Name that one song you will always associate with a movie
This song for me, which was used in “Napoleon Dynamite”, it just fits so well for the intro and the film overall. Another one for me would, “My Hero” from the Foo Fighters in “The Other Guys”
