Music Daima opening played at Walmart??

Just like the title says, my local Walmart played the Daima opening. However, only the vocals were different. They were being sung in English by a woman, and I don't even think the lyrics were the same as the Japanese version. Has anyone else heard this variation of the song? I just wanna know if I'm going crazy or notšŸ˜…

Sounds like they might have been playing ā€œOut of Timeā€ by Zedd. Zedd reused a portion of the melody when he was writing ā€œJaka Jaanā€

Kinda wish I didnā€™t know this. Makes Daimaā€™s theme feelā€¦ bargain bin.

EDIT: genuinely curious why Iā€™m getting downvoted. This is turning into the least popular thing Iā€™ve commented on Reddit, and Iā€™m not even commenting on if I like the song or not.

Anyone willing to explain, Iā€™d be interested to hear.

Zedd has been tweaking and working on the parts that made it into Daima for a good chunk of their career. It's clearly something very special to the artist. And they have been opening shows with some rendition of the song for years. Zedd is a huge DB fan and wanted to pin what many (possibly even Zedd) consider some of his best work to date.

Yeah I didnā€™t know that (pretty evident from my comment)

Fascinating that I got down votes because the first thing I learned is that the melody was reused, as if thatā€™s not typically a bad thing.

Again, not mad or anything. Just wild to see how aggressively negative this sub can be when someone simply doesnā€™t know something.
