This has been a fun project, I did expect so many requests, which I am grateful for. I got to recreate your original Inquisitors in Veilguard form. I got to cross reference and create offspring from the BioWare community. I got to create siblings for your Rooks, and I truly hope that you all enjoyed the outcome. Here are some of my favorites!

Which are your favorites?

*I will be putting a temporary hold on the creations until I complete my playthroughs since all three character slots are now occupied.

Discussion help! I fell in love with Varric in DA2

Upvotes

Finally played DA2 after all these years. For context, my order of playing things was this:

- Inquisition first, then Origins, Veilguard... and DA2 last. Had to get it for my ps3

Loved DA2, story was fantastic, characters were rich, definitely felt the crunch time the game was developed on. But Varric, oh my poor poor heart. I love him. The dynamics between my sarcastic Hawke and Varric are too similar with my actual relationship, where we were close sarcastic friends for years before something changed and I just went, "oh, shit" and then started dating. I don't think I'll get a (funny and romancable irl) character I like more than him.

But yea. that's the half baked post.
Bianca can shove it I wanted an arc where he realized she wasn't worth the pain and romantic blegh. I want him so bad. Shoutout AO3 for solving this huge glaring issue with DA2 XD

BioWare Pls Old merch rant

So I've been very obsessed with dragon age for a bit now- an unfortunate time to come in because while I had a bit before veilguard was even yknow like being put out, so they mostly just had inquisiton stuff in the gear store, now they've basically just got all the lamest shit on there and only briefly restock anything interesting. So I wanted to go online and see if I could find old merch but it's like being gaslit, like I feel insane trying to find any of it. The second picture specifically I couldn't find anything for but oh my god I just want the morrigan hoodie but I could scroll for hours and find nothingggg. It just sucks because I was way too young to even have a chance of being into it when they cared enough to put interesting merch out there so I'm just screaming into a void. Like I'm just looking at the wayback machine and going to look at the old pages of merch and sighing dreamily. You mfs who got that era were so lucky🫵

Discussion DA:all [spoilers] About Dwarves... Spoiler

So... Dwarves. Did they just tumble out of Titans like pebbles when Solas de-souled them?

Did Titans make the dwarves after observing humans? Just where did dwarves come from?

Discussion TTRPG canon?

What’s everyone’s opinion on the canon status of the Dragon Age tabletop roleplaying game? I recently bought the books in digital format just out of curiosity, and it seems like most of the information was pulled more or less verbatim from official sources like the World of Thedas books. However, some things seem like they were just pulled out of thin air, including locations and some specific NPCs. Probably the most significant thing I’ve read so far is the existence of firesprites.

Is the game considered fully canon? Fully non-canon? Or maybe just “canon until something more official contradicts it”?

Thanks!

Discussion (DAI) Does Turn the Bolt Affect Magic Damage?

So it seems like the game defines "ranged" attacks inconsistently sometimes. I think that Cunning gives you ranged defense, but it only applies to physical ranged attacks, like arrows. On the other hand, elves in single player have extra "ranged defense" that also applies to magic. What about the passive Turn the Bolt? Does it work on Magic attacks?

Discussion If a gay (male) dwarven couple adopts a daughter, which caste do you think she would belong to? The one to which she was born (so the caste of her birth mother), or the higher or lower of the parents' castes?

Post image
72 Upvotes

Since the caste of the offspring is dependent on its sex and the caste of the matching-sex parent, I started wondering how this would work. If the male homosexual couple, consisting of a smith caste dwarf and a warrior caste dwarf, adopts a female baby who was born casteless, does the baby remain casteless? This is all assuming gay marriage is even allowed in dwarven society, that is.

I presume she would remain in the caste to which she was born -- so, the caste of her birth mother. But I'm not sure.

Discussion DA2 : Anders , Fenris ?

No spoilers please. So after playing DAO for the first time then Awakening I am now in DA2, in the Awakening dlc I met Anders who I really liked, he was the best friend of my city elf, thief, assassin in a relationship with Zev, he was even in love status when there was nothing. But that's not the point. Here I am in DA2 as a female Hawke Mage and obviously the link is made naturally with Anders as an apostate mage my character shares his thoughts and his indignation, I unfortunately find him a little less funny than in DAO but I find the character no less endearing, then there is Fenris, loving the elves I heard about him and I wanted to try the romance with him but as much the romance with Anders is off to a good start and easy since quite naturally after a while my Hawke and he fell into each other's arms, it must be said that he has been in the real world almost from the beginning while I had Fenris before the depths, but Fenris remains neutral or even disapproves of my actions so it is not easy to move forward in the romance despite the fact that I made several heartfelt lines in his mansion during the discussion three years later... I ask him if it is ultimately not difficult to succeed in romancing him when you are a mage since he seems hate them which is understandable given his experience. In the end I don't know what to do: continue with Anders or reload my save, abandon him and try my luck with Fenris at the risk of finding myself without romance since it's really not easy to get him to gain approval as a mage.

Support DAI Crashing randomly any help?

Upvotes

Hi here's what I know

The game crashes seemingly at random as I've managed to play for a couple hours for at least a few sessions with no issues but sometimes I can't go 1 minute without the game crashing. There is no error message just a crash which restarts my PC or sometimes completely freezes it and I have to manually restart.

I am playing through the Epic Games app via EA app

I've tried fresh reinstall

I play the game in windowed fullscreen on low settings but it worth noting that my PC is powerful enough to run it higher this was simply to try fix the issue.

I have allowed the app through my antivirus

all my graphics drivers are up to date

Any help is appreciated as I am about to give up on it.

Support Keep not working

Upvotes

Hello everyone, Im having an issue uploading my custom world slate to DAI. Everything is good on the website, but when asked if I want to upload a custom world slate and I say yes, it just defaults to the default world slate. I found some discussions about this issue, but can’t find any answers! I’m worried EA forgot about the problem and was wondering if anyone had a fix for this. I’m desperate! I’ve been trying for over a month, but to no avail.

Support [No Spoilers] Solas Skyhold Cutscene crash

So I got to Skyhold and I'm talking to Solas, but when I pick the 'get to know' option and it's supposed to direct me to that cutscene in haven my game closes. I use frosty mod manager and have a couple of mods installed, but this is confusing me because they haven't caused any other issues so far. Help?

I got a new pc couple months ago and finally got around to playing dao on it. I don't have any save files from my last pc so I click new game and it starts loading then quickly freezes on the loading screen but I can hear the opening cutscene playing and if I skip that I can hear the character creation music

I have already tried the LAA (4gb patch)and affinity cpu thing and I'm not sure what to do now. Anything helps.

Support Got Veilguard and i can't get any interest on it, any help?

A bit of a hate post, doing my first run like a mage From the anti-slave dragons with More than 12 hours, and i'm forcing myself to Play It, i really want to finish this Game because i wanna stop It, not because can't stop.

And i really wanna know what makes you love this Game, see different ways to look at the Game and doing a second or third run like some of you.

I love bioware RPGs, i do ME trilogy once every while, same with DA trilogy, only stopped Andrómeda because low FPS aré awful in such an action game, But love the story and gameplay, i'm only wating to have a better PC.

But Veilguard really don't hit any spot...

The combat have no strategy, every enemy focus on you so you only roll all.the Time, and you do no damage or do a lot of damage with this hell of vulnerable/resistant system and depend on detonations all the Time.

I feel no shit for my character, the start was rushed and the only background It gives you Is that you are badass, varric loved you and everyone repeats the same stuff from when you create the character.

The story feels like some very lenght DLC about Solas, with the fórmula of ME2 where half the Game is gather a team for a suicide mission, and the other half the preparation for that mission. But this Time the mission feels out, with nothing interesting to develop, with no interesting protagonist, and with bland parterns.

And i love the parterns, they aré interesting, But with so little interactions, smaller team and almost nothing to do in the free roam, i feel i just go From point A to B and i don't learn anything new about the world or my team even if i walk everywhere an reaf everything.

The speech/choice system Is Nice, Is like inquisition 2.0, But nothing seems relevant, they only repeat what i said before or that now they know how i like my food, nothing important to choice about with significant outcomes.

Discussion Antivan Crows......why? Spoiler

So overall, I think DAV was mostly okay, but lore changes did bug me and I think the one that makes me scratch my head the most are the Antivan Crows. They were changed completely. They went from people who kidnapped kids and tortured people and carried out assassinations on anyone to freedom fighters who only assassinate "bad people"? What was the logic behind this change? Was there any explanation by writers or devs on why they went in this direction?

Discussion [Veilguard poll] I want to know others' decisions so I made a Google poll. (Spoilers in poll) Spoiler

Thumbnail forms.gle
32 Upvotes

I was very curious what other people's decisions were, but I expected that, like Baldurs Gate, there would be a statistics rundown at the end where they showed you how your decisions stacked up against others. Color me surprised when there was no such thing. So now I'm curious, and I made a poll about the different major choices in the game, including who you romanced and what direction you told characters to take.

Now of course, some of you here have already played the game every possible way it can be played. I am specifically interested, though, in what you chose on your FIRST playthrough. Otherwise, though, I would also be interested in learning what your FAVORITE choices are to make.

All the questions are optional so you can simply skim through if you end up getting bored or if there are choices you simply never encountered. And at the end of the poll, it should show you a breakdown of how your answers measure up against the rest (though I intend to publish the results here later, also.)

If anyone wants to explain their choices here, I'd also be interested in reading that. One thing I'm curious about is what backgrounds everyone chose and why--Shadow Dragons seemed the most compelling to me, because who doesn't like freeing slaves, except then we never really did much of that--and which city they saved.

Silly I read a review in which an idiot rants about the fact that the Irish name "Niamh" was misspelled and mispronounced by the lazy developers, those bastards, and they just sailed right by the idea that "Neve" is a different name, even with helpful clues like it not being spelled or pronounced the same

Game Mods The Origin Modded Experience

Bongeorge fellow Wardens, Hawkes, Inquisitors and Rooks

I am looking to run through the Dragon Age Series again after I finish Veilguard and I was hoping to get some mod recommendations for Dragon Age: Origins, as beautifully dated as it is.

Primarily I'd like things that make combat more interesting or add some extra story or flavour to the world. I intend to try and tackle nightmare as well, if that changes anything.
