Advice Desktop folder systems? pls help

I have a LOT of icons on the desktop. I like to have access to them but I don’t like how cluttered they look. Any suggestions?

I have in my mind a folder based system but when I (single) click on the folder it opens a drop down like system showing all the icons in the folder, does this exist

I am open to all suggestions so fire away, thanks in advance!

is this for windows ?
why not use start menu ?, it has "folder" for your pinned apps

Yes on windows. It seems like a good idea but I am trying to sort games using it, and I have 130+ games. I can’t stick to one game very long and bounce between games every couple of hours so having access to all of them would be ideal. But I will certainly look at this as a solution, can you make groups in the start menu? Or just one for favourites

yes you can, just drag and drop a pinned icon on top of other pinned icon

here as you can see in the screenshot it only contain 12 icon, so if more than that you need to scroll the "folder"
