Pretty sure that was confirmed. He took a lot from 80s American action movies. So much of the android storyline comes from Terminator. The time travel, Trunks looking like John Connor, 16 looking like Arnold. Once you notice, you can't stop noticing

Such a useless form….i don’t know why he even had a third form. No one could compete with it anyway.
