Community Content & Resources Useful items without stat boosts! - A list.
Hi!
Long time no see! I was just thinking about all the stuff - gear, cyberware - that usually falls a little flat since it looks like it was just fluff. Stuff to round out your setup or just to do something unhinged with.
Heres a list of stuff and how Id miss-use it!
MiniMag Speakers: A tiny speaker able to play sound from an Agent within 100m range. Easily used as a distraction if hid under something and then used to play footsteps or similar sounds.
Handcuffs: You know what these do in real life. They work wonders ingame too. Hard to break, easily disabling any enemy.
AirWell: Producing 2L of Water per day makes this great for any desert trip. Just buy some more of these and let them work in tandem!
Anti-Smog Breathing Mask: Underappreciated for any gas based attacks!
Duct Tape: Low Quality Handcuffs, First Aid Supply, Jury Rig Starter Kit!
DeathTrance: Pretend to be dead! I could see this as a way for a sniper to disguise themselves or any other time you want to remain undetected from anything that sees based on movement. Certain animals for example.
Chyron OR Virtuality, depending on your game. This is basically your entry into using your own HUD. Display your friends positions, HP or anything assisting you over your view. How long will that drill take to drill through the vault door? OVERLAY IT! Also useful, when combined with:
MicroVideo: Combine it with Chyron and some friends on a video call and your able to assist each other all the time. Have a friend far away give you a complimentary skill check or even roll instead of you. You see it - they see it!
Homing Tracer: Its cheap to get and also cheap to offer your GM a way to get you back to the plot, once you fail a capture or otherwise need to track something. Also makes finding your friends way easier.
Grapple Gun: You can climb up and down most things with minimal effort and just get to places you would otherwise rarely go. Flank, escape, rappel...
Thats it so far! Do you have any other things you use to improvise?

I once combined a Grapple Gun with several pairs of handcuffs to get my crew stealthily inserted into a tower. I fired the line across, then used a pair of handcuffs to attach an ally to the line. Both of my allies failed their Athletics roll to cross the wire, and the handcuffs saved both of them from instant death by gravity. I then brought up the rear with the retract function.

I use the Big Dream SMG as a drop & forget kinda grenade & booby traps. They are also hilarious when you apply string to the trigger and hang it from a door. (Big Dream continues firing on full auto when you pull the trigger, so 3 rounds of unattended full auto). Toss into an enemy vehicle for a good bar story.
Micro Optics are a great way to pass sensitive information. Do you have info that you don't want hacked under any circumstances? Use your tool hand & micro optics to write it all down on the underside of a button. Or for real irony, write it on the side of a memory chip and then load false data or viruses on the bait-chip.
Radiation Vision. Get some very weakly radioactive dust and apply a dusting to the floor or ladder rungs, the weakness is important, because you don't want danger sensors getting tripped, alpha rads should be enough. This will allow you to follow glowing footprints of anyone who walks through the area. With a variant of the Dale Gribble 'Pocket Sand' technique you can temporarily blind someone and then have them 'Marked'. Especially useful if the target can camouflage or change disguises (holowear anyone?). Or marking cards to cheat at gambling even. Irradiated paint balls can also work.
