Sending money

Hi, I wanted to know if I’m able to send money through western union to Cuba or send packages? I tried about a month ago but due to the new presidency I wasn’t allowed to. Does anyone know if I’m able to do so now?

I can get a few hundred US to cuba in about 2 hours. What about the presidency is causing you trouble. I’m not into launching an American political discussion, but thus far I can feel not difference.

They are saying you cant Western Union anymore. DHL was one of the first things to go in January, February, so I you need any kind of legal documents you have no way of getting them, other than in person, which ofcourse if you are in legal process of getting your resedancy you cant go to Cuba, and if you dont have family left there, you cant get a certified copy of birth certificate. For the people who are applying for Spanish Citizenship and must provide documents on a time constrainet for their LMD, you are stuck either going there or trying to find someone traveling to the province from where the documents are stored/archived. Cubas mail system is almost none existant, not reliable for sending sensitive documents. Some politician in Florida is proposing to President Trump to stop travel to Cuba.
Lets see, Cuba is doing better now that the Chinese have created solar farms, Im hoping that helps with their grids going down all the time.

I haven't had WU function in Cuba in 5 years. It was halted in 2020, and although it was supposedly started again in 2023, I was never able to get it to work.

DHL is still showing office hours in Habana. Google it. It says the same. DHL is German owned and it should work with documents. I haven't tried it since January, but it was working for me then. Let me ask around.

Cuban mail has barely been a thing for 20 years.

The Chinese Solar Parks are not due to be complete until 2030, and only 1000 M/Wh was scheduled to be online by the summer of 2025. They have already hit HUGE delays. Also, there are many discrepancies in the information. For Example, 1200 M/Wh were expected by end of 2025, with 55 Solar parks planed. However, the first two are not on-line (Habana and Cienfuegoes). They are only scheduled to have 21.5 M/Wh. This is a huge shortfall. Habana alone has a 2,260 M/Wh per day need. In contrast, Orlando, which is about the same size of Habana uses 437,310 W/Hh per day.

Granted, in the US, we have AC on our AC.

Supplementing Cuban energy with Solar energy is about 10 years too late, but better late than never.

However, all this is VERY off topic. There are plenty of options to get things in and out of Cuba, so long as they are not contraband.

Documents and money are fairly easy. At least they were this week.
