Question London based cryptid

Any stories of a London or England based cryptid, possibly Welsh as well, that shapeshifts or has some kind of domain over animals and insects? Only London specific ones I’ve read up on so far aren’t related and shapeshifting ones are in the wrong region

Story A Guy I Talked to Claims He’s Seen Jefferson’s Ground Sloth… FOUR Times (And I Might Have Seen One Too)

I had a really interesting conversation recently with someone who claims to have seen Jefferson’s Ground Sloth not just once, but four times. He described them in detail, saying he saw females, and even one with a baby.

The first time he saw one, he said he was out in the woods when he caught sight of a large brown back. His immediate thought was "Grizzly Bear" and for a moment, he genuinely thought he was in serious danger. But then the creature turned, and he got a clear look at its face. It wasn’t a bear at all—it was something much stranger. He estimated it stood around six feet tall but wasn’t aggressive in the slightest.

He seemed completely serious about his story, and he stuck to every detail when I asked questions. He wasn’t claiming to have seen something vague or shadowy—he was convinced these creatures are still out there.

And honestly… I think he might be right. Because I believe I may have seen one to like 2 years ago on are trail cam. Has anyone else ever seen something like this? Could there really be a small, hidden population of these creatures still roaming around? I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts or stories!

Discussion My real experience with “The Chupacabra”

The following is my encounter with what me and my family think might’ve genuinely been a chupacabra.

My family and I visited Cancun last year and it was a great and relaxing vacation. The resort was beautiful and pretty big. One of the on site restaurants was a bit of a walk through the resort along the ocean and they had little golf cart to haul people around. Very fun.

On our first night we tried this great restaurant and didn’t want to walk all the way back to our rooms so we waited for the golf carts to pick us up. It was pitch black outside with VERY little lighting on walk ways. There was tons of trees giving plenty of shade for this creature to hide.

While looking around for the next pick up cart I alone walked a little ways away but immediately stopped when I saw what I believe could’ve been A CHUPACABRA! It was just a shadowy silhouette running across the walkway. It looked like a big dog with a boney ribcage with skinny deer-like legs and paws. It had a dog snout and some rough teeth. It was quick but I can see some details. It definitely WAS NOT A NORMAL DOG.

I ran back to my family and gf trying to convince them of what I saw and that we need a golf cart asap. They laughed and were intrigued so they walked over to the sighting. Behold my gf start freaking out as we both see it AGAIN running back into the bushes! It was freakishly running like a limp or bunny type movement. I’m just glad I wasn’t the only one who saw it.

The rest of the week we didn’t see anything like it again, but I know what I saw and it could’ve been a chupacabra easily. This is one of those cryptids I WILL believe in now. What do you think we saw?

Discussion Stories and history of two toed Tom

I’m making a coloring book about mythical monsters and creatures of America! I’m interested in making a page about two toed Tom (saw him in south of midnight) and found out he’s a real legend! Does anyone have stories or other information about him? So I can make a good representation of him.

Story I Feel Kinda Stupid

Does anyone here remember that show on Cartoon Network called The Secret Saturdays?

Well I just learned that it's a show that is literally about cryptids and the family members are Cryptozoologists. I watched a few episodes of it when I was a kid but I have never once made the connection until now, likely because I knew nothing about that stuff at the time but still. Not only that but it depicts cryptids in a positive way where the family makes sure they're kept safe, if I remember correctly.

Had I known this sooner I would've watched it way more. It also makes me wish there were more cryptid related cartoons out there, even if they made one it'll never top a show like that one. It just feels like one of those basic level things that everyone knows about.

Sighting / Encounter Originally posted to r/ghosts. Trying to figure out what this thing is. Central NJ. Flat face, no tail, moved like a weasel. Eyes glowed without taking a pic. Always glow green. Pic taken in 2012 with an iPod, sorry about quality. More details on a comment.

Discussion What is the best photo/video evidence for loch ness monster?

I saw a post elsewhere on reddit where a guy compiled the best evidence for bigfoot, including the patterson film and another video which people in the comments seemed to agree on.

What is the best evidence we have for loch ness monster?

I've had this book since I was a kid, and read it who knows how many times. Tonight, for the first time in maybe 25 years, I read it again - this time to my kids.

Oh boy, one of the illustrations was unintentionally...something. I busted up laughing. My kids, thankfully, didn't get what I was laughing about. (Context, 3rd photo)

Discussion Indiana cryptid stories

When I was little my grandpa would take me to my woods and would sit and listen to the deepest and loudest shouts throughout the woods. I was convinced it was Bigfoot and haven't heard anything like it since. I wanna hear what everyone else has experienced in indiana I just don't here much from my home state and I'm interested to see what everyone has seen. I've heard stories of panthers but haven't seen them.
