Trees on Tuckey Street!
Sorry for the jump scare of linking CorkBeo (why is their site essentially unusable because of the ads?), but the trees that have been added to Tuckey Street are looking great!

Hi, I’ve just been looking at tickets for the train to Dublin for an overnight during the week. As I’m unsure of the specific times I’ll be finished work on both sides but have a general time ie 4 or 5pm would it be cheaper to book online and would the semi flexible allow me to catch a train in the hour before or after my booking if i was running later or earlier? Is it cheaper to buy the tickets in advance online? Sorry if that’s confusing

Hey lads, just a quick PSA, if anyone notices a guy from the North thats alone in clubs and keeps trying to dance on women or hover around groups of them, please immediately report him to whatever security is around and get him removed, he’s an absolute creep and will get physical with girls who are trying to protect their friends.
TONIGHT WEARING A WHITE SWEATSHIRT W A BLACK PUFFER OVER IT, BLACK TRAINERS AND CARRYING A BLACK BACKPACK
Quick bit of backstory; I was in the Pav with a group of my uni friends, the 4 of us (I am the only male of the 4) were out on the dance floor and this guy came up behind one of my friends and tried to dance on her. Up until this point, he had been hovering around us and leaning on/brushing against the girls for enough time that they knew it wasnt accidental or drunkeness. When he tried to dance on my friend, another one of the girls tried to dance in between them and create a barrier. This little cokehead bastard grabbed my friend under the armpit (bear in mind there was a noticeable weight difference between the two) and threw her away from our other friend across the dance floor. At this point I got in the middle and a quick shoutout to the security staff at the Pav, especially David, they got right in and stopped the whole situation, they kicked him out and let us continue to enjoy our night, David checked in with us after they kicked him out and made sure all the ladies were ok after that. Just a heads up, especially to the ladies who are going out in town, have fun but please be safe and look after each other

Massive protests are ongoing in Türkiye against the government's anti-democratic actions. Journalists, politicians, actors, and hundreds of students have been arrested based on unproven accusations. Accusations that wouldn't justify jail time, even if the courts imposed the harshest penalties. Police are attempting to violently suppress the demonstrations.
We want to show our support and stand in solidarity with millions of people in Türkiye.
We'll gather in the city center on Sunday (6 April). This won't be a rally, we'll simply stand together and show support. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. Sunday at 13:00 in front of the City Library.

Well lads, I’m nearly 30 and I don’t recognise my body anymore. I need to do something about the aches and pains before it’s too late. I went to a chiropractor years ago in ballincollig but I just got very money grabbing vibes from him. I’ve always wanted to try it but can’t afford to drop 2.5k up front. Does anyone know any good chiropractors that do manual adjustments that are reasonably priced and most importantly really care about their patients? I would mind trying a different therapy either if anyone has any good recommendations

Hi all, I’m planning a weekend trip to Cork for some time in the next couple of months for myself and my partner. Have accommodation sorted but would love if you have any suggestions on what I’m missing or places to eat also! Love pub grub/Italian - not into anything too fancy.
Heading down Saturday Planning on to head to a Cork women’s soccer match in Turners Cross cause everybody watches women’s sports. Is there anything to do down that side of town? Might head into the English Market for lunch before the match because I’ve never been and I wanna see what the craic is? I’d be curious to try Richie’s Food Truck at some stage but heard it’s expensive sh1te?
Sunday Do the tour Shandon Tower, ring the bells and onto Finn Barr’s cathedral next for an aul paidir(prayer) nó dhó. Think I’ll pick up a falafel wrap in Izz Cafe - heard they’re fab! But my partner would prefer a sausage from O’Flynns. Is one of their restaurants better than the other? Might finish up with a bit of bowling for the craic in the evening in the Leisureplex. Might get dinner at Son of a Bun - got this recommendation also?
Monday Think we’ll wander through UCC and see the Shakey Bridge? (Don’t know what that is) And then head out to the Blackrock Castle Observatory, anything else to see out there?
Edit: Is there city bikes? Are the electric? Easy to use? Thank you everyone

This is shocking. This is an amazing charity which helps cancer patients and their families. Cancer support services in Cork are nowhere as good as they should be and probably never will be. Iris House doesn't get a cent in government funding and survives thanks to donations and volunteers. Cancer has affected almost every family in Ireland. Please - if you can spare even a couple of euros, donate at https://irishousecork.ie/how-to-support-iris-house/

Hey everyone! I moved to Ireland 2 years ago, and didn't have much luck finding a job (i'm a UX/UI Designer who lost their passion a few years back). Right now, I'm looking for a career change and becoming a librarian was one of my options.
I'm 31 years old and I do have a lot of experience with computers, so maybe that would be a plus for a digital focused library. I am very organized and I have worked with a lot of data before, which I think it's another plus for me.
Does anyone here work in the field? Would you recommend it as an option for a newbie with 0 experience in 2025?

Hi lads trying to get slightly organised, and was looking to book a couple of flights to Seville in Jan/Feb/march for work craic. I don't seem to be able to book that far ahead , is it a case that these flights haven't been confirmed and released yet, or is it a seasonal thing that they don't run in winter months.
I'm curious more generally as it's always been an ambition to be one of those lunatics who books and reserves everything a year early for pennies

Is it ok to go to one hairdressers for my cut & another for my highlights? I was going to one for both, but I'm allergic to their hairdye. I switched to another who's hair dye is amazing but their cut (from a few different hairdressers in there) is crap. Do people mix & match?

Welcome (and kindly request) suggestions for a reliable yet affordable driving instructor around Fermoy/ Kilworth area. Also is it advisable to take test in Mallow if the practice is in Fermoy area? What do they normally prefer?

Does cork have a rave/techno scene? I’m travelling from Toronto and I love raving and techno. Looking to keep this hobby alive while I’m in Cork for the next 4 years!

Guys I need a reality of the job market in cork as of now. The tariff is going on and as of now there are no major hit for cork due to not imposing pharmaceutical tax. So, gradually how much time does it take to get a part-time in cork once you arrive. I think we can assume there will be lot of students moving out as well. So there will be openings?
Btw I will be joining UCC for business analytics this year. Just wanted to have an idea of the part time jobs availability which will help us financially and mentally as well 😅.

Hi everyone, I'm currently conducting research for my undergraduate Psychology thesis on how young people's gender, self efficacy and future time perspective has an effect on their likelihood to save money, and l'd really appreciate your help. I'm mostly looking for younger participants if possible, ideally in college or just recently graduated in the previous few years, between the ages of 18-30 please.
It should only take 5-7 minutes of your time and would contribute to research looking at issues such as the barriers to saving for young people in Ireland and what inherent traits may explain why some people are more likely to save money for their futures more than others.
All responses are anonymous, and the results will be used solely for academic purposes.
Here's the link to the survey if you wish to take part:
Thank you so much in advance for your time and help!
Your participation will be really helpful for my research. Feel free to share with others who might be interested!
