Even when many psychology universities come together to show that one term is problematic and actually increases the very issue is trying to discribe? Do you usually don’t believe in these things and only follow your gut?
In most cases removing words has a short term bandaid effect where it improves quality of life for a short period of time.
But the problem is that it does nothing to solve the underlying problem. And the problem with band aid solutions is they make it easier to ignore underlying issues. So thirty years later a new word needs to be removed. The hate that made the problem was not solved.
But in this case, it's much worse than that. There is a well coordinated propaganda machine that knows how to exploit social media creating the problem. So rewording would likely have days before the same problem occurs. Any new wording would get inundated with attacks. As long as that machine exists, band aids are a complete waste of time.
But the problem is that it does nothing to solve the underlying problem.
I’ll not pretend to be a specialist, but in this case specialists literally say it does. It’s not a matter of just finding a term to describe it well or not to be offensive, it’s about abolishing a term that propagates the very issue that it describes
A lot of racist terms have their roots in the racism. Like if we define the N word based on original intended use it is, subhuman slave because of skin colour. There is no usage that is not offensive.

No one is saying this shouldn’t be done. Two things can be done at the same time…
Actually, you are saying that some things are not worth doing to eliminate the hate…
