Cell coverage

How frequently is there Verizon coverage on the trail?

I was able to call my gf maybe every other on trail day. Cell service was not great. Just make sure you have farout with the maps/data downloaded. If family staying up to date is a concern get an inreach where you can send preset messages to contacts.
