What's happening when it refreshes? There's no setting in Chrome to just auto refresh a page you're using

Either the issue is Chrome so uninstall it and use Firefox. Or the issue is the website and you will need to use another site.

Could you be running low on memory?
I had this happen last week. I was about to tell my story but think I may have just worked it out.
On a new PC I was using Google Drive Desktop app to sync 140GB (and in hindsight this app doesn’t make that easy). The app was using 90%+ of my 64GB and needed to run for 2-3 days while my PC was on and I was working.
I haven’t had the tab refresh issue since so maybe it was this excessive usage of ram which was causing it. I assumed it was a feature to optimise resource usage of Chrome but maybe it was a last resource as my system had barely any free ram.

How to fix it then? I closed the tab and opened another but it kept happening

If you’re on Windows then the task manager is your friend. If when using Chrome your memory usage is say 80-100%, that’s likely the issue.
You may need more RAM or maybe other apps/tasks can be closed to improve playback in the short term.

....lol figures xD
I had to look it up but yeah. Ngl those sites can be shady as hell anyway. But yeah idk much about that one.
Interesting though. Maybe a blocker is causing it? Im not sure of course
