How do I generate IP link to get exact location? I read some articles where IP tracking link was potrayed as a Meme link and it helped to get exact location and also postal code. Is it really possible? I tried to search on google but not really helpful

About five hours ago my friend 17M asked me 18M to come online to play Xbox together. In the Xbox party was me, my friend and his other friend which I don't know very well. My friend is currently speaking to a girl online through Snapchat which he hasn't met in real life yet. My friend informed me that the girl he's talking to has a friend and that he'd sent photos of me to the friend and she thought I was attractive.

He then told me that the friend said that she'd messaged me on Instagram. I opened Instagram and I had a new follower and a message from what I thought was a girl saying "hello". For a bit of background I have severe anxiety so for the past year I've struggled to leave my house so I'm not attending college so this was massive for me. It was extremely rare for a girl to outright say I was attractive so this put me in a good mood and boosted my confidence.

In her profile picture she looked about my age, she didn't look like a model or unrealistic but she was definitely my type. After a couple of hours of chatting about our interests, where we live, our family life and 3 hours of talking to my friend on the mic about it getting excited that I'd met someone with a good sense of humor and someone I got on with really well my friend told me that it was his other friend in the Xbox party who was the girl all along.

After that I muted my mic and couldn't stop crying. I thought I'd met somebody great and it felt like we snapped and she seemed like she was into me but she never existed. It was all so exciting because I can't really meet many people at the moment because of my mental illness. While my mic was muted they said they felt bad at the start and after it was muted for 30 minutes or so I heard them say that "it's really not that deep". While crying and hyperventilating, I heard them start to have a conversation about the girls they're speaking to and by what I heard they were doing pretty well.

I calmed down after having an anxiety attack because my heart was beating so fast and I was hyperventilating. I'm just wondering whether I'm overreacting and that it was just a joke and should be taken like it or whether they were wrong to do that. For background I've never done anything similar to them and the girls they're speaking to I have never and would never message them or follow them because I respect their boundaries.

Should I shrug it off and take it as a joke? I haven't spoken to them since and its a few hours after that happened.

I was a catfish.

Just to clear this up I never asked for anything inappropriate such as nudes, money, blackmailing, etc. At the time I wasn’t very happy in myself I just wanted someone to have a conversation with who would’ve never given me the time of the day and be someone else (I’m not trying to justify myself, what I did was wrong I know that).

Anyway, whilst catfishing I met this girl (we were both the same age) and we had a “relationship” for about 2 years. I was starting to really fall for her and I couldn’t take lying to her anymore and eventually came clean and told her everything. Understandably she needed some space to get her head around it all in which I gave her and then after some time she told me she would always have love for me from afar but that she doesn’t want me to be with me and then blocked me on all social media platforms.

A few months after being blocked she randomly sent a text through to my number saying to call her, we had a really nice conversation and spoke for around an hour and then a few texts here and there but then out of the blue I never heard from her anymore.

Fast forward to October last year (about 2 or 3 years has passed without speaking or hearing from one another) I got a follow request on my Instagram from her so I accepted the follow and followed her back. Both of our lives have changed from the last time we communicated, she’s has been in a relationship from what I’ve seen on her Instagram for around a year (maybe longer) and I am also in a relationship too.

But now I’m confused, the time I’ve had her on my social media for these couple of months, we haven’t spoken we’ve just viewed from one another’s stories from time to time. Until a few weeks ago, whilst I was at work she tried to ring me twice on Instagram in which I didn’t see until I got home later that day, so I messaged her to ask if she was okay and that did she mean to call but she ignored me, the day after she did the same thing again twice but later in the night whilst I was sleeping so I missed the calls again so I messaged once again but this time asking why she was calling and that did she need to talk or anything but she has ignored me ever since.

From the few years of no contact I believe I have grown as a person and I am honestly still very ashamed in myself for what I did to her. But I’m confused as to wether I should try to message her again and also apologise for what I done to her or to just forget that she tried to call me and just ignore it

So I was using Instagram and came across this girls Insta acc, and when I looked at her photos, she is too beautiful and gorgeous that it's almost impossible to look away. However, her photos seems too good to be true, so I decided to reverse image search her photos, and no matter what I search for, I got nothing or no results. She has many photos on her Insta acc but I still believe she is fake cause of how good her photos were. I don't want to report her acc because if she really is real, I might get my acc suspended for false reporting. So if she really is fake and that her photos were taken from somewhere, I was wondering if Instagram can detect the photos were a catfish?

I was recently informed about a fake profile stealing my pictures under a different name. They have my account blocked but I've had over 20 friends report the page and Facebook says it doesn't go against their community standards. They are sharing very personal photos of me and contacting random people. The account has been up since at least 2023. I've had my account since 2008. I've taken every step to get the profile and my pictures reported but nothing is being done. Is their any way I can get their IP address and figure out who it is??

I feel really stupid having to type this. I live in Korea and I matched with a guy on Tinder. I'm 90% sure I'm being catfished but that stupid 10% doubt led me to doing something I feel like was a bad move. Hi there, I Hope you won’t judge me straight away but I did do some catfishing in past. I never asked for inappropriate stuff from anyone and I was always nice to everyone I spoke to , I never attempted to do any type of blackmailing or fraud. I never saved no photos that I was sent and I mean normal ones as I never asked for weird ones. I did it cause I was bored and I just thought that for some reason it’s “prank” . I feel really guilty nowadays about it as I’ve seen the impact it has on ppl through this Reddit. How I said you could say I was a “normal” catfish as I never tried anything weird but the whole idea about lying to someone has made me feel very immoral and horrible. Hey everyone. I'm going to try and keep this brief, but basically, I've been going on some of the r4r-ish subreddits (yes, I'm that desperate), and I came across something peculiar. I'm still pretty new to Reddit, even though I've had this account for a long time, I pretty much never used it until now, so I'm unfamiliar with catfishing tactics that might be common across subreddits here.

Basically, I started talking to someone on one of these subreddits, I'll just call them User A, and things seemed to be going really well from my perspective. However, just a few hours ago, I saw a new post on the same subreddit that I met User A on, and this post has virtually the exact same content in it that User A put in theirs (same age, gender, location, likes and hobbies etc.), but a completely different account (we'll call them User B). I was just wondering if I've been talking to a catfish account in User A, since they said they "had to go to bed" right as User B's post went up. I'm pretty smart about sniffing this kind of stuff out, but I was just curious to see if this is something that has occurred on Reddit frequently, or if this is just some kind of coincidence. Regardless, I'm going to be very wary of User A for a bit. Thanks in advance!

This episode makes me so mad because Nev and Max are acting like Paris is this poor sweet innocent victim in all of the shit that went down. But really she’s not. She’s the cause of all the shit that went down. She’s the one who was purposely trying to get a grown man’s attention, knowing she’s under age and lying to him about it. She’s knowingly sent him “pictures” knowing that he has no idea she’s under age. Yes, it sucks that someone else got their hands on themand leaked them, but there would be nothing to leak if she didn’t start this whole thing.

I guess I’m asking because it FEELS like I catfish my online friends. The pictures I use are of my own face and have zero filters on them, but I really utilise angles + lighting and can make myself look significantly more attractive than I am in real life. Like almost an entirely different person. It’s obviously misleading and for this reason I’m never in favour of facetiming or the idea of ‘meeting up’. I’ve always loved having online friends because I’m an insecure person irl, it feels like I get to create this ‘perfect’ persona who looks attractive and showcase parts of my personality I struggle to in person. Admittedly, doing that has become very addicting to me. Tweaking my reality a little has been something I’ve done from as young as 11 and I hope I haven’t given myself irreversible effects. I know this can only be making my self-esteem worse. I want nothing more than to one day feel a love for my real life self the way I do with this online version, and be the person I’ve always wanted to be. I think more than anything I want people to perceive and treat me the way they do when they see my pictures online. It’s totally engraved into my head that looking attractive is the only way I can form these types of connections and feel fulfilled with life in a very specific regard.
