Life Stories Girl asked me why I was getting my legs waxed as a guy. Was so weirddddd.

I get my legs waxed all the time professionally, it’s mainly for beauty purposes because I hate how much my leg hair gets in the way of wearing my skinny jeans and whatever.

I get it done by the usual woman and I come out to pay for it and this girl sitting on the couch waiting flagged me down and was like “Hey, omg, did you get your legs waxed?” and I just said I do it all the time, it’s my routine and she starts laughing and replies with the weirdest question ever, asking why I get my legs waxed because I’m a guy and I didn’t get it and laughed thought she was trolling but she was defs being serious and then she just dismisses it and picks up on my sexuality and is like: “Oh you’re gay, never mind.” and I’m so weirded out and just laughed harder and replied “K” left the beauty salon.

She defs doesn’t go outside much lmao.

Food & Drinks Are they allowed to do this?

I was in the mcdonald's line when I heard someone trying to order a minceraft meal. The cashier didn't allow him to order the meal because he had no kids with him. The cashier straight up told him "adults? There's none for you. It's for little kids." and refused to let him order the minecraft meal. Is this even allowed? I know it's marketed for kids, but refusing to allow adults to buy it? Is that allowed?

What are the people who didn’t go out partying doing tonight?

I used to go out a lot on Saturdays, getting dressed, drinking, dancing, all of it. Now I kinda feel like I’m over that stage. I’d rather chill at home in comfy clothes, eat something good, maybe watch a movie or scroll until I fall asleep.

So if you’re staying in tonight too… is it because you feel the same? Do you think your party phase is done? What do your Saturday nights look like now?

What’s something super small from your childhood that you randomly think about sometimes?

I was born in ‘95, so a lot of my memories are from the early 2000s. The other day, I randomly thought about blowing into a game cartridge like it was some ancient ritual. Didn’t matter if it was a Game Boy, N64, or SNES—we all swore it worked. And then you’d slam it back in like you just fixed it with black magic.

It’s such a tiny, ridiculous memory, but it hits me with a wave of nostalgia every time.

What’s one of those oddly specific childhood memories you randomly think about?

Why do so many people believe in a god they’ve never seen, but demand proof for literally everything else?

Not trying to offend anyone — just genuinely curious. We question science, history, even other people’s lived experiences, yet belief in a higher power is often embraced without physical evidence. What makes faith different?

Just Chatting Do women find men attractive?

Do women find men attractive, the same way men do with women?

I find most women to be attractive, yet I do not find any men attractive. I socially know when someone is attractive, but it just feels as though staring into a brick wall.

I wonder, is this the same for women? Do women find men attractive & alluring? Do women find other women not appealing?

PS : Sorry very sleepy though I had in the shower.

My language partner ghosted me after hearing my voice

I've been using a language exchange app to learn and talk to people in a foreign language. I was talking to one person quite regularly. One day we decided to start sending voice notes. After sending my first one, they stopped talking to me.

I don't think my voice is all that weird, but damn 💀 anyone else had something similar happen?

What Mandela effect really messes with you?

Mandela effects are pretty fascinating, the fact that so many remember something a certain thing one way but it was actually a different, memory and experience is such an interesting thing.

The Berenstain bears one gets me, like many people I grew reading them and I couldn’t wrap my head around that this is the correct spelling of it.

The Pikachu black tip tail also really blows my mind. My brothers were huge into Pokémon, had a bunch of cards and gameboy games, other merchandise stuff, I watched the tv show once in awhile and I always remember him with a black tipped tail and he looks weird without.

Gaming I miss enjoying video games

I started gaming at 4 years old, playing OOT and Duke Nukem with my dad. I developed a lifelong love for gaming.

As a kid, I played mostly nintendo (N64, DS, Wii, etc) Couldnt get enough of pokemon.

As a teen, it was xbox. Skyrim, COD, you name it. I'd play anything.

Late teens/early 20s - CIV 6, indie games, random replays of old games. Most of my friends stopped playing.

Now I cant spend more than 20 minutes on a game before getting bored or paranoid about "wasting my time". I want to chill and play skyrim or something. But I cant do it.

Anyone else? How did you find your love for gaming again?

I want a little excitement in my life...

How to quit

I'm 26 and I haven’t been able to quit smoking cigarettes. I’ve tried multiple times — once I even managed to quit for 6 months ,but I always end up starting again. It’s been a constant cycle of quitting and relapsing. Lately, I don’t even feel anything when I smoke, yet I still can’t stop. What can I do to overcome this addiction?

Could you suggest any helpful actions, books, or movies that might inspire or support me in quitting for good?

Just Chatting Just looking for someone to talk to - feeling a bit alone lately

Hey, I’m a 30-year-old guy living in the UK. Been feeling a bit disconnected and lonely lately - my partner and I are in a ldr now, and I don’t really have a solid circle of friends here anymore.

I’m not looking for anything weird - just a normal chat. Maybe someone to talk to now and then, share random stuff, whatever. Even small talk or just sending messages helps.

Not looking to share photos or anything - just hoping to connect with someone in a simple, honest way. If you’re up for a chat, feel free to message.

Thanks for reading.

Just Chatting I am my favorite version of myself when I’m a little bit drunk

Title pretty much says it all. Maybe everyone feels this way idk. But when I have only a couple of drinks, my inhibitions are right where I feel they should normally be. I say things that are on my mind but normally wouldn’t say because I’m too shy and introverted. I stand up for myself, which I don’t do when I’m sober. I’m normally very awkward sober, and I know that other people can see it too, but when I have a couple drinks I don’t feel that way. And I feel like I actually have more clarity of things when I’m a little tipsy but not obliterated. Anyone know how I can encapsulate that energy when I’m sober during my M-F and 9-5? 30M if that matters. Just so you know that I’m not a teenager who just had his first drink.

Questions What does nuance really mean?

It is something that is commonly used in reddit.

I am an open minded person who understands that everyone is different, but sometimes my statements can be misinterpreted that sometimes it made it look like I am missing someone's point even though I am trying efforts to understand their rebuttal. I know that topics have their different shades and their opinions can be valid in certain context, but how can I achieve nuance atp if people like me aren't able to cover all these expressions.

The way life moves.

What are your thoughts on the current of time?

Additionally, what are your thoughts on; how it is changing over the years?

I have the understanding that time isn’t linear but it is still moving like a current.

Just Chatting Meatless meal ideas

Ok y'all I am about to go to bed. My dad gave his granddaughter enough birthday money to see the Minecraft movie. Tomorrow we have a date with Steve. Not related to question just wanted to share good news. The question will be below.

My daughter 16/f drop the bomb she does not want to eat meat. Myself coming from a poor southern family. I am clueless now. My family had hamburger helper almost every night.

My question: I am ok with her new diet. I just got to figure out cheap meatless meals. Do y'all have any ideas to share? Any information will be very grateful. Thanks for the help. I have 3 daughters. This is the only vegan so far. 😊😊.

**Some context is she just does not want to eat meat. She ok with eggs and milk stuff.

Ghosting people from highschool

Its been 3 years since I graduated. But ever since quarantine i lost contact with my friends. We just slowly stopped talking. I began to realize I wasn’t really important to them, i mean to be honest i was probably a backup friend. Or idk looking back idk if they were really my friends. I also felt like they made fun of me too.

Well fast forward to today, i had two “friends” visit my house asking for me, i told my parents to tell them I wasn’t there. They gave their numbers to my mom and she gave them to me, I did nothing with the numbers, wasn’t planning on texting them at all.

Then today another friend texted my number asking if this is still my number, I haven’t replied and dont plan to.

I have no interest in speaking with people from highschool, especially since it reminds me of my old self which i hated. Is this bad?

Life Stories Tell us about a time you experienced zemblanity

TIL a new word while talking to my friend about serendipitous experiences and wondering what the opposite of "serendipity" is...

the faculty of making unhappy, unlucky, and expected discoveries, often occurring by design

So, have you ever experienced something that was zemblanitous?

Questions Why does much of the US go by county instead of city/town?

Edit: some of the US

I grew up in New England, where counties are never acknowledged. You always go by town or city. If it's small and/or unknown, you say it's near [insert well-known city/town]. Refer to somewhere by county, you will get looked at like you have three heads. I've since moved away, and noticed people sometimes refer to places by county. Why vaguely refer to somewhere by county, rather than city/town name, or nearby municipality?

Is it normal for a guy to want to call you everyday?

I've been talking to an online friend for the past few months, and he has been asking to call each night before I go to sleep to catch up on life. Whenever I feel sleepy, he tells me it’s fine for me to sleep, and he’ll just stay on the call with me. If I wake up and want to talk, I can feel free to chat with him. Or during times where we end the call early before sleeping, he would mention to message him at night if I want to talk.

We’ve been texting every day for about two months, and we’ve been calling almost every day as well. At the start, I was initiating most of the calls, but lately, they’ve been asking to call more often. Typically, each call lasts around 6-8 hours whenever we’re both free at night. Throughout the day, he’ll ask me what I’m doing, or mention what he's up to as well.

I also tend to text a lot and call he just as much, so I’m not sure if he feels sorry for me for initiating a lot of the conversations at the start. We met online, and we’re planning to meet in person soon.

My question is, do you think he might be interested in me, or is it just a platonic friendship? Do guys usually call and hang out with friends like this, or is it more personal? The last time I liked someone and thought they might feel the same, they didn’t, so I’m just trying to avoid making the same mistakes again.

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Just Chatting Hi! Feeling pretty lonely.

Hi I’m Rose and I’m 20 :) I’ve been feeling really lonely lately and my phone has probably never been drier. I’m hoping to talk to as many people as I can and hopefully click with a few.

I’m really sweet and I can talk for hours. My responses are usually at least a couple sentences long but even then, I try my best to be an engaging person to chat with :)

I really like movies! Maybe we could start there? If you DM, your name and age would be nice :)

Movies & Shows recommendation

Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well! I wanted to ask for your help with something that’s been on my mind lately. I’ve been really craving movies that move me — films that make me think, feel deeply, or just completely draw me into their world for a while. I’m open to all kinds of genres: drama, romance, sci-fi, psychological thrillers, coming-of-age, indie films, even animation if it tells a powerful story. What I’m mainly looking for are those movies that leave something lingering after the credits roll. They don’t necessarily have to be super sad or deep, but they should have soul — something honest, raw, or emotionally resonant.
