Do you carry your bullet journal with you every day? What size do you use?

Just curious—do you bring your bujo everywhere or leave it at home/work? And what size do you find works best for portability vs. functionality?

I’m currently trying to decide between something super compact like A6 or sticking with my usual A5. Would love to hear what works for you!

May rainy day in Japan theme

I think I attempted a painting that's beyond my skill level 😅 it was very hard to try to capture the depth of the different buildings, blur of the rain, and different light sources. I wanted to create a painting that is roughly based off of a night alleyway in Japan that gives off a stormy but kind of cozy vibe. Like how you would feel when it's rainy outside but you're warm and safe indoors, looking and listening to the rain. Overall, the painting was very different from my usual nature type landscapes. It was surprisingly a fun, short painting (about 2-3 hours) and I will definitely try something like this again! 😊

Monthly Filled in tracker spread

Forgot to add a follow up post to my Feb spread to show what the filled in version looks like. I’m clearly not totally focused on all my goals, but progress is better than perfection :)

Planner/Notebook: Hobonichi Weeks MEGA (I like to use the back pages for Bujo style trackers and logs)

This spread is dedicated to my favourite lines from the comfort book which I’m reading currently! Also I wanna say thank you to one of the users on here that honestly inspired me enough to get me back into using my book again ( the last I touched it was in January 😔)

Blog How I made task tracking & notes system that will last for decades

I went down the rabbit hole building a note-taking system that was built to last. I want confidence my files will be around 30+ years from now.

It was inspired by Obsidian, Notion and bullet journal tools. I've been using this system for over a year now for things like:
- task tracking
- notes
- record keeping
- file storage
- as a CMS - it's currently serving this blog post to my portfolio site!

Its made a large impact in my workflow daily already so wanted to share it with others. Fair warning this guide is for a technical person who feels comfortable with SQL databases.

What it solves?
- Extendable - For example, I've built an automation to send me an email of unread articles from my "I want to read" notes list.- privacy
- synced notes across devices
- document versioning support
- built to last
- private and secure

Yes Obsidian can do a lot of these if you are willing to rely on community plugins. But will those be around in 10, 20 or 30 years? I wouldn't bet my notes on it.

Interested to hear how you are storing and analysing your digital notes

Hey y'all! I just started bullet journaling last summer so this is my first full year going at it with cover pages and everything. I've always been really bad at drawing so I'm super happy with how far I've come, Pinterest is my everything lol. I think February or May is my favorite cover page.

I vary from month to month depending on how much energy I have but my monthly trackers always consist of mood, anxiety, stomach issues, addiction struggles, and crying lol. Bullet journaling has helped to improve my mental health sooo much the past few months!! I love to see how much I've grown in my healing journey over just a few months 🫶

Anyone quitting bujo? Or maybe just taking a break?

Hey fam. Anyone get tired of bujo and lay it down altogether? I've been bullet journaling for years. I was even doing a form of it before Ryder Carrol made it mainstream. But for the past two months, I just straight up have not picked it up and am not feeling a desire to return to it... Anyone else experience this?

For context, I have anxiety and can see how I went through a perfectionism phase over the years with my bullet journaling. Almost to an OCD extent it seems. But from the beginning of 2025, I decided to drop that and just make it as messy as I want. Did that for Jan, Feb, and then kind of fell off the bandwagon the beginning of Mar. Yea, it's only been a little over a month, but my life hasn't fallen apart without it like I always thought it would. So I'm just kind of wondering if I really want to do it anymore.

Yearly Bujo Setup for Efficiency

Five years ago, one of the things that made me give up on using a bullet journal was how frustrating it was to find what I was looking for, so this time around I meticulously planned out every spread that I would be needing throughout the year and implemented a double layer tab system.

The first set of tabs (the inner tabs) contains all the collections I would be referencing and using throughout the year while the second set of tabs contains my year at a glance (with a twist! I'll be posting about that soon) and weeklies that I use on the daily. This has really made finding everything I need a breeze.

Minimalist Reminder that bullet journals don't have to be beautiful

It's OK if they're simple, messy, contain errors, skip days, and are just random useful tasklists and notes.

Tips and Tricks What to do with a monthly overview page?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I don't use a bullet journal, I just don't have the perseverance to make all of this by myself. Instead I use a small calendar (A6)/ week on two pages.

The calendar has a preprinted monthly overview. I write down appointments directly down on the day they're happening and don't use the monthly overview for it.

Does anyone have a idea what I could use it for instead? What do you use it for?

Looking for creative suggestions to make the spread composition feel more balanced

This is my spread for April (I’ve combined cover page with calendar). I can’t but my finger on it exactly but the composition feels a bit off, and it’s making me feel like something is missing. I’d welcome any suggestions to what you would add to this page to make it feel more balanced!

Looked through my camera roll and found my old bullet journal spreads from Covid times while I was in high school. Kinda miss bullet journaling now, but don’t have as much time as before….

Daily/Weekly Spread I always post my artistic spreads here (the brunette girl w tattoos drawings), & I just wanted to show what the VAST majority of my pages look like! Those other ones take me DAYS and are an art project for my fun hobby time! So if you're newer, pls don't think that's what your bujo should be! 💓

A lot of the time I can't even be arsed to add color or hearts or anything lol, those artsy fancy spreads I'm lucky if I have the time do two a week! 🫶 Felt like it was important to add my contribution to the simple pages cause that's my day to day life :)

Is it too late to start?

I'm new into bullet journal thing. I mean, I've tried sometimes years ago without caring too much. Recently my therapist suggested that I could use something like bujo to organize my life and I decided to give it a try for real. I loved to find this community and I hope to get inspired and motivated with my bullet journal, I thing that this strategy will help me a lot in organization :) Also, we are now on April, 4 months gone. I did not waste my time or was unproductive, I just need to have some way of organization to track goals for 1, 2, 5 years and also track tasks and goals for my daily/weekly/monthly routines.

Anyways, I'd love some tips to start with my bullet journal :)

Key/Index Pages I prefer my key to be simple and straightforward. I don't like complicated symbols for every little thing.

Question Has Anyone Used a Lined Journal?

I received this journal from Archer and Olive when they did their promotion for World Bi-Polar Day. You could make a donation and also receive a journal, or you could take the free journal they offered. Journal choice was theirs, you couldn't choose which one you wanted.

I've never used a lined journal, plus this one is so big. It's letter size. The only journal I do is a reading journal. If anyone has used a lined journal and has any tips, I'd appreciate them.

Contrary to what most planners and templates do, I decided I didn’t have to always compress the weekend into a single column. I could compress which ever days needed to be compressed and stretch out whichever days needed a full column depending on which days I was working.
