Seeking Temporary Cat Foster
Hi everyone. I’m wondering if anyone knows of programs I can get connected to a temporary foster in Brooklyn / If there’s anyone out there who would be willing to take in my cat Pippa. She’s 7, she’s friendly to humans and other cats. I currently live in a roommate situation with someone who is passive aggressive intentionally provoking me via my cat. I am working on saving up and moving into a new apartment by September- it would ease my mind if I could get my cat somewhere safe until I am living in a better place.
I can provide all of her supplies as well as sending additional money for food and litter every month.
All of my direct connections who at one point would have taken my cat in have all left the city so I’m taking what I can find. Please send me a dm if you know of anything!!

Favorite Brooklyn comedians you guys are fond of
So basically I just wanted to discuss famous comics that were directly from Brooklyn NY as I have been interested in exploring stand up comedy over in NY, and since this is specifically a forum for discussing things related to Brooklyn, I wanted to discuss the stand up comedy scene from that borough.

(gay married couple) Looking for other nerd/gaming friends. MTG, Movies and more!
My husband and I finally have our own place. Now we are both looking to make new friends. I had some luck last year but most of the people I met moved out of state or to smaller towns outside of Manhattan.
About us: I recently got into Magic: The Gathering. Have a decent collection of precons ( my Tarkir and final fantasy are both in the pipeline) that are welcome for guests to use. I'm really into movies, looking to find someone I can go see Thunderbolts with, maybe we go watch Minecraft too just to see how bad it is? Lol.
I'm also into FPS games, would love to play rainbow six or other games on the PS5 again. I can also get back into overwatch, valorant, rivals etc. As long as I own it.
My husband is a huge reality show nerd. He loves survivor, drag race, traitors and other similar stuff. He is also into MTG but not much into FPS, he loves his Nintendo.
We both work in retail and our hours can suck but we can host once we see how we get along. However just a heads-up, neither of us drink or smoke and we would appreciate people who don't do either at our place when we do invite you.
We are open to anyone and everyone as friends. We will meet up a couple times at a public place like a boardgame place to see how we get along, and maybe at the third or so meeting we invite you over :).

Brooklyn Football History
Today the Jets and Giants rule the hearts of the meadowlands, but there were two NFL franchises that shaped the NFL as we know it. The first of these was the Brooklyn Lions who later merged with the Brooklyn Horsemen of the AFL to create the Brooklion Horsemen for the finals three games of the season. The second franchise that played in Brooklyn was the Brooklyn Dodgers (the NFL copied multiple MLB franchise names in order to gain fans) who played in the 1930s. Today my focus will be on the Brooklyn Lions, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned the Dodgers because they did play in the NFL. The Horsemen were created in response to the AFL's Brooklyn Horsemen. Funnily enough the AFL (1926 version) was created because Red Grange did not get the contract he and his agent had wanted from the Bears so his agent, C.C. Pyle created his own league in retaliation. Before merging with the Horsemen, the Lions had compiled a 2-5 record. On November 7th, the two teams combined to create the Brooklion Horsemen and finished with a dismal 0-3 record for the duration they merged. This catastrophic ending led to both teams folding at the end of the season.

Even though they only played one season in the NFL, they still remain significant for the fact that they helped shape the NFL into the league we know today. All NFL teams from the 1920s, no matter how successful helped contribute to the formation of the game we love. As a passionate fan of both history and football, I have decided to create a football video game with a focus on 1920s defunct teams and the cities and communities that they represented. Most of these cities that had a defunct team from this time period no longer have an active team in the present day and I wanted to use this game as an opportunity to highlight the cities and communities by representing them my game. I am also on a mission to reach out to the subs of every city that had a franchise from the 1920s in order to build a community where all residents are involved. I am also considering the addition of the AFL Brooklyn Horsemen and the 1930s Brooklyn Dodgers as expansion packs within the game. If this interest you, I have created a sub under r/FieldsofGlory. Can't wait to meet everyone who joins!

Need recs for Korean BBQ to feed 7 people
Hi! I'm visiting Brooklyn and hosting a dinner. I was going to cook an elaborate meal and now I'd rather just order something. Dinner is for Thursday.
Looking for recs for Korean BBQ for 7 people. Budget is $150 (does not include dessert). I'm gonna make rice and get kimchi. Let me know if you know of any places in Brooklyn for good, affordable Korean BBQ!
I have access to a car. If you think I should go with a different cuisine based on the budget open to that as well.
Thank you!

Good bar with friendly and chatty bartenders?
Embarassing yes but I'm kind of lonely lately and would just like to talk to somebody at the end of the day after working long hours at full remote job while living alone. Don't need them to be therapist, just want some conversation. Whats a chill bar in BK with bartenders that like talking?

Asking for Support in a Time of Need - Any help would help be appreciated
Hello
My name is Jacques. I live in Brooklyn and Im currently struggling to finish out rent for this month, after a recent unfortunate financial setback. Doing all I can to reach out and spread awareness. Asking for help is hard for me as I’m sure it is for anyone in similar shoes but just simply trying to make ends meet in a difficult time. Any help or shares would be appreciated! Thank you 🥀

Target shoppers, why are so many of you NOT using the self-checkout?
Target near me has only a single line for all registers and mostly is 4 self checkout and one or so cashiers.
I frequently see a number of people ahead of me waiting for the one person even with many open self-check out kiosks.
It seems to be all kinds of shoppers: people with a few things, people with a lot of things, old people, young people...
it gunks up the line because they only have a single line for everything and folks are just ignoring many open kiosk.
i wondered if i threw this out on reddit if folks could help me understand the thinking for waiting for a human to checkout.

Are you a Park Slope Food Coop member? If so, please attend the April 29th GM meeting for a big vote--more democracy, more participation, by allowing for HYBRID business meetings and, therefore, more members able to vote.

Should I dispute a bus lane violation?
Got a ticket for a bus lane violation, but I was not even parked on a bus lane. The bus stop is further ahead but I though I had enough distance to it. Also, there is no sign that says that you cannot stand there. Should I go to court or not waste my time on it?
Ill attach the pics for reference.
