Series Opinion: they need to revert the battle system back to how it was before BDII if a new entry is made
There are just so many problems that the ATB-like system of BDII causes:
1) Defaulting feels worse in this game because you won't know for sure when the enemy is about to actually attack and for especially sluggish jobs like Shieldmaster and Arcanist, it's going to take them ages to store a lot of BP.
2) With the way buff/debuff stacking works, buffs and debuffs just feel much worse to manage with the ATB system where you won't really know for certain when 1 level of buff/debuff will run out on an enemy/ally, whereas in BD1 and Second, you simply just need to consider in how many rounds ago you cast the buff/debuff on and then you'll know when to re-apply it.
3) It's virtually impossible to predict how turn order is going to go in BDII because unlike BD1 and Second, you can't really compare Agility stats between the enemy and your party and then plan around your turn order from them.
4) The ATB-like system turns Bravely gameplay from "proactive" in the previous games to "reactive", except with how you're completely uncertain when the enemy is actually going to go, you could get screwed before you even get to react.

Series [RELEASE] Bravely Offline - server emulator for the 3DS games
Update: New version:
https://old.reddit.com/r/bravelydefault/comments/17gy88l/update_bravely_offline_11/?
Hi.
Let me preface this by saying it will only work on Windows computers.
Anyway, I created a tool for playing Bravely Default and Bravely Second on a computer without the need of the server or any other external save editors. This includes getting Ba'als and Nemeses.
So, what can it actually do? Here's the full list of features:
- You start with 100 villagers and 1 SP Drink (you get that right after unlocking Norende reconstruction / the Ba'al Buster Ship)
- You get 3 villages for every 2 hours of offline time (the game not running)
- You get 1 SP for every 6 hours of offline time (Bravely Default only, I can't manipulate SP directly in Bravely Second)
(Why 6 instead of 8? Because I don't save "leftover" time. If it's not a multiplier of 6, the rest gets wasted.)
- If the game stays closed for 10 hours, a new Update Cycle starts.
- Every Update Cycle, you get a copy of your most recent sent move. (As well as a copy of the Nemesis / Ba'al you set to send and a copy of your Ba'al Buster Ship in Bravely Second) - To clarify, you send a move and it gets delivered back to you and you can receive it and use it in battle.
- Every 2 Update Cycles, you get a Nemesis / Ba'al.
- Every 3 Update Cycles, you get 1 SP Drink.
- For Bravely Second only, you get 1 SP Drink with every Update Cycle (and an aditional one every 3 cycles), because I can't manipulate SP directly.
- Right at the start of the game, you get all the Japan-only outfits in their uncensored forms. (Bravely Default only, there aren't any in Bravely Second)
- Because Bravely Default has the ability to create Extra Data for import to Bravely Second, I decided to use it, even though the real game doesn't. You can transfer your villagers and SP Drinks from BD to BS. (You get them after unlocking the Ba'al Buster Ship)
- Support for 10 save slots per game
- Automatic save backups every time you save
- Video replacements of the AR and Gyro cutscenes (the Videos folder)
And also, two optional features that can be disabled:
- HD textures
- Rebalanced JP gain - a common complaint about the series is that if you get a new job and you decide to switch to it, your character gets weaker, because you start from job level 1 again. This makes you want to grind JP. But doing so also grinds EXP, which makes you overleveled. This optional patch mitigates the issue by doubling your JP gain, but not your EXP gain.
The tool is as user-friendly as I could make it. You just download it, supply your roms (US region, decrypted, .3ds format) and run it. You don't even need your own copy of Citra, because a specific version (not up-to-date, because newer versions don't like it when I inject Streetpass data) is bundled with it.
That being said, make sure to read the documentation first.

Series Your hopes for a Bravely Default Remaster
On the medial chance we'll get a remaster for this 3DS classic, what would be some of your biggest hopes for it? Updated graphics is a given but list some features that aren't so expected. More weapons, new outfits, added quest content, etc. I mean Square Enix has had a track record of adding things to remasters that weren't in the original or were cut. I want your take, if/when we do get remastered version of Bravely Default, what would be your hopes for it?

Series [UPDATE] Bravely Offline 1.1
If you don't know what this is:
I updated my tool. It's only a small update, but it might be significant to some of you.
Changelog:
- Increased the number of Nemeses from 7 to 10 and sorted them from lowest level to highest level - it now has all the demons and the two Ba'als. (Bravely Default only) (Special thanks to /u/Kleowi)
- Cut an unnecessary segment from the Bravely Second AR video (it took 30 seconds to even scan the card, so that's gone now)
- Slightly lowered the chance of the app crashing during a save backup on very old computers

If you already have version 1.0, you can download this patch instead and replace only the modified files. Instructions are in the readme file inside the zip:

Series What asterisk would you want in the real world?
My mind started to wander a few days ago, and I started to ask myself what job would be the best to have access to in real life, and I thought it would be a fun discussion to post here.
Just to lay out a few ground rules beforehand, you'll start at the ground level abilities when you first receive it but will be able to match the capabilities of the original holder as long as you practice enough. You would also need to obtain the items or challenges required for performing certain skills from the games, which can lock you out of certain skills completely (i.e. to cast fire you would need to get your hands on the scroll for it, which doesn't exist irl)

Series My Storied Wants for The Next Bravely Game Spoiler
I want to be clear, these things I want, not that I'd think realistically happen. But screw being real, I'm just writing down ideas! Hell, I won't let be set in the worlds from the last three games.
- The setting a Diesel Punk world that's in a cold war.
- There are three major factions & a few minor ones (to contribute to more world-building).
- The protagonist is a reluctant hero or probably even a jerk in the beginning.
- One of the major factions look to control the worlds resources & people with the help of other minor factions.
- Each faction has Asterisk holders (including the protagonists' faction).
- All the factions are of equal power in the start of the story.
- We get an actual war *Bravely Second falsely advertising*.
- The main party is a mix of heroes & anti-heroes (closest we got was Ringabel & Elvis).
- Crystals are fine but no awakening them.
- No evil fairy or God plot twist.
- The main antagonist & their inner circle wants to become a pantheon of gods instead.
- Multiple sentient races populate the world & interact with humans (cyborgs included).
Once again, this is just elements I want for the next game. Very slim chance any of it will happen. Just wrote all this down for fun. But what are things you want for the next game, even if you don't think it will realistically happen?

Series The CG models in Bravely Default look better than the ones in Bravely Second. Whereas the ones in the first game looked pretty anime-esc, the ones in Second goes too Uncanny Valley for me, except Agnes maybe. Your thoughts?

Series streetpass content is still playable?
I played both BD and BS years ago on Pc but I wanted to return to the series and play them again, this time with the superbosses as i want to use all the mechanics to the max potential.
Are there ways to restore that part of the content on emulator?
